The Qigong Wuqinxi for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: Protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic and progressive disease that represents an important public health challenge nowadays. Despite the growing number of studies assessing the rehabilitation outcome of Wuqinxi for COPD, their many variables and observations are often explored with a relatively small sample size, accordingly maybe lead to potential false-positive results. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to evaluate the rehabilitation efficacy of Wuqinxi for COPD. ⋯ This systematic review will generate the latest evidence for determining whether Wuqinxi has a positive rehabilitation effect for COPD.PROSPERO registration number: PROSPERO CRD 42019120960.

Total disc replacement versus fusion for lumbar degenerative diseases - a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Lumbar fusion is considered to the gold standard for treatment of spinal degenerative diseases but results in adjacent segment degeneration and acquired spinal instability. Total disc replacement is a relatively new alternative avoiding the occurrence of the above complications. The systematic review and meta-analysis was designed to evaluate whether total disc replacement exhibited better outcomes and safety. ⋯ Total disc replacement is recommended to alleviate the pain of degenerative lumbar diseases, improve the state of lumbar function and the quality of life of patients, provide a high level of security, have better health economics benefits for 1-level patients.

Ischemic stroke is a foremost cause for disability and death worldwide. This study is conducted in order to compare the diagnostic values between transcranial Doppler ultrasound (ultrasonography), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients suffering from ischemic stroke by performing a network meta-analysis. ⋯ This network meta-analysis provides supporting evidence to the idea that DWI has a higher diagnostic value regarding ischemic stroke among MRI methods, and CTP has a poor diagnostic value among CT methods, which provide therapeutic considerations for Ischemic stroke intervention.

Efficacy of different probiotic protocols in irritable bowel syndrome: A network meta-analysis.
Probiotics is a prevalence therapeutic method for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), but there is lack of comparison in different protocols. We aim to differentiate the reasonable protocols by assessing the efficacy and safety through the combined way of traditional and network meta-analysis. ⋯ Probiotics is a safety choice to improve the overall symptoms for IBS patient. The protocols with suitable dose combined of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium can have prepotent effects compared with single species or over-dosage protocols. Network meta-analysis shows that DUO may be the first recommendation for diarrhea-type IBS. In the remaining 4 regimes of this study, Pro has a high rank for undifferentiated-type IBS.

Knee osteoarthritis (KOA), the most common type of osteoarthritis, is a chronic degenerative joint disease accompanied by pain and functional limitation for the elderly. The 2 nonpharmacologic approaches, electroacupuncture (EA) and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), are considered beneficial in relieving KOA pain, however, the current conclusions are controversial. Furthermore, no direct or indirect meta-analyses between EA and TENS have been reported for the pain relief of KOA patients. ⋯ CRD42018091826.
