Meta Analysis
Acupuncture and weight loss in Asians: A PRISMA-compliant systematic review and meta-analysis.
Acupuncture is effective for reducing body weight; however, evidence in Asian populations is lacking. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture for body weight reduction in Asians. ⋯ Our study demonstrates that acupuncture is effective in the intervention of overweight/obesity in Asians; however, compared with exercise alone, acupuncture combined with exercise had no effect on the BMI or waist circumstance in the short term. Long-term studies are needed to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture in weight reduction in Asians.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Perioperative combined administration of tranexamic acid and dexamethasone in total knee arthroplasty-benefit versus harm?
The purpose of this study was to investigate the benefits and harm of combined administration of tranexamic acid (TXA) and dexamethasone (Dexa) in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). ⋯ The combined administration of TXA + Dexa significantly reduced the level of postoperative CRP and IL-6, relieve postoperative pain, ameliorate the incidence of POVN, provide additional analgesic and antiemetic effects, reduce postoperative fatigue, and improve ROM, without increasing the risk of complications in primary TKA.

Observational Study
The effect of tracheostomy delay time on outcome of patients with prolonged mechanical ventilation: A STROBE-compliant retrospective cohort study.
The tracheostomy timing for patients with prolonged mechanical ventilation (PMV) was usually delayed in our country. Both physician decision time and tracheostomy delay time (time from physician's suggestion of tracheostomy to procedure day) affect tracheostomy timing. The effect of tracheostomy delay time on outcome has not yet been evaluated before. ⋯ Platelet count of >150 × 10/μL (OR = 0.217, 95% CI = 0.051-0.933, P = .043) and procedure type (percutaneous dilatation, OR = 0.252, 95% CI = 0.069-0.912, P = .036) were associated with in-hospital mortality. Shorter tracheostomy delay time is associated with higher weaning success. Percutaneous dilatation tracheostomy is associated with both higher weaning success and lower in-hospital mortality.

Acute diarrhea is the 2nd highest prevalence disease among children under 5 years of age. It can cause malnutrition and even death in children, especially in developing country. Traditional Chinese medicine therapy has been applied and already in the guidelines for clinical practice of acute infectious diarrhea in children in China, but there is no specific methods or recommendations due to lacking of evidence. Zusanli acupoint injection as a form of acupuncture therapy, which is proved to be effective in randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and very suitable for children, has been used in acute diarrhea in children for a long time; therefore, a systematic review is necessary to provide available evidence for further study. ⋯ PROSPERO 2019 CRD42019135275.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is one of the most common causes of disability in diabetic population, and its pathogenesis is related to a variety of factors. There is currently no effective treatment for such chronic disease. Traditional Chinese medicine has a long clinical history for the prevention and treatment of diabetes and chronic complications, and it also shows certain advantages in the treatment of DPN. Many clinical studies have confirmed that Chinese medicine Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction (HGWD) can reduce the clinical symptoms and improve neuronal function of patients with DPN. So we intend to conduct a systematic review further clarified the effectiveness and safety of HGWD for DPN. ⋯ PROSPERO 2019 CRD42019132031.
