Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the common gynecological endocrine system diseases. It is characterized by excessive androgen, rare or anovulation, and polycystic ovary morphology. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a fat-soluble natural vitamin, which has a continuous oxidation-reduction cycle and is an effective antioxidant that can protect ovaries from oxidative damage. This study aims to systematically summarize and analyze the scientific literatures on glucose metabolism index, lipid profiles, inflammatory factor, and sex hormone level of PCOS patients treated with CoQ10 to provide a reference basis for clinical treatment. ⋯ INPLASY 2020100013.

Flipped classroom combined with human anatomy web-based learning system shows promising effects in anatomy education.
Flipped classroom has received much attention in medical education. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of flipped classroom combing with human anatomy web-based learning system in anatomy education. A total of 89 freshmen in medical specialty were enrolled and randomly allocated into either the experimental group (receiving the flipped classroom with human anatomy web-based learning system, n = 45) or control group (receiving the traditional classroom teaching, n = 44). ⋯ However, the mean post-quiz score in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (91.44 ± 6.25 vs 86.13 ± 11.67, P < .05). The results of questionnaires showed that 44 (97.8%) students agreed with flipped classroom combined with human anatomy web-based learning system, 43 (95.6%) students obtained improved study interest in anatomy learning, and 42 (93.3%) students felt that the interactive, applied in-class activities during the class greatly enhanced their learning. Flipped classroom combined with human anatomy web-based learning system can be used as an effective learning tool for anatomy education.

Locking plate and intramedullary nail are two commonly applied methods to fix proximal humeral fractures. There are limited randomized studies that specifically evaluate the results of proximal humeral neck fractures with three-part or four-part treated by locking plates or intramedullary nails. Our goal was to compare functional outcomes, complications, and imaging features between the two groups. ⋯ This study will provide a solid theoretical basis for exploring which technique is better in treatment of 3-part or 4-part proximal humeral neck fractures in elderly population.

Risk factors for aspiration pneumonia in patients with dysphagia undergoing videofluoroscopic swallowing studies: A retrospective cohort study.
Prediction of aspiration pneumonia development in at-risk patients is vital for implementation of appropriate interventions to reduce morbidity and mortality. Unfortunately, studies utilizing a comprehensive approach to risk assessment are still lacking. The objective of this study was to analyze the clinical features and videofluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS) findings that predict aspiration pneumonia in patients with suspected dysphagia. ⋯ Integrated together, these factors were used to develop a predictive model for development of aspiration pneumonia (DAP), with a sensitivity of 82%, specificity of 56%, and an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.73. The best predictors for DAP included videofluoroscopic findings of aspiration during a 2-cubic centimeter thick-liquid trial, prolonged pharyngeal delay time, a Penetration-Aspiration Scale level of 8, history of smoking, and underweight status. These 5 proposed determinants and the associated DAP score are relatively simple to assess and may constitute a clinical screening tool that can readily identify and improve the management of patients at risk for aspiration pneumonia.

In pediatric tumors, immunotherapy exhibits less toxicity than chemotherapy and radiation. The current study aims to identify potential immune targets in immune-related genes of C-C motif chemokine ligand genes (CCLs) and C-C motif chemokine receptors (CCRs) in childhood osteosarcoma (OS) and to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms of childhood OS. ⋯ CCL5, CCL8, CCR4, and CCR5 are potential prognostic markers for the prognosis of childhood OS, and the underlying molecular mechanisms of childhood OS have been identified.
