A growing number of studies have suggested that the Long intergenic noncoding RNA 00511 (LINC00511) is aberrantly expressed in multiple malignancies and is related to patient survival. Herein, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to comprehensively evaluate the prognostic significance of LINC00511 in human malignancies. ⋯ High LINC00511 expression may predict unfavorable prognosis in patients with malignancies. It should be further explored as a potential prognostic and therapeutic biomarker for human cancer.

Outcome analysis of traumatic out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients according to the mechanism of injury: A nationwide observation study.
The variation in the outcome of traumatic out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (TOHCA) patients according to the mechanism of injury has been relatively unexplored. Therefore, this study aimed to determine whether the mechanism of injury is associated with survival to hospital discharge and good neurological outcome at hospital discharge in TOHCA. The study population comprised cases of TOHCA drawn from the national Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest registry (2012-2016). ⋯ In the multivariate analysis, injury mechanisms showed no significant difference in neurological outcomes, and only collision had a significant odds ratio for survival to discharge (odds ratio: 2.440; 95% confidence interval: 1.795-3.317) compared to the traffic accident group. In this study, the mechanism of injury was not associated with neurological outcome in TOHCA patients. Collision might be the only mechanism of injury to result in better survival to discharge than traffic accident.

Hydronephrosis, mostly caused by ureteropelvic junction obstruction, rarely occurs in infants. However, imperforate hymen atresia in female infants may cause hydronephrosis, even though it is rare. ⋯ Early ultrasound diagnosis plays a significant role in the management and treatment of infant patients. Ultrasound is the mandatory imaging technology for determining the cause of hydronephrosis.

Leukemia diagnosis based on bone marrow cell morphology primarily relies on the manual microscopy of bone marrow smears. However, this method is greatly affected by subjective factors and tends to lead to misdiagnosis. This study proposes using bone marrow cell microscopy images and employs convolutional neural network (CNN) combined with transfer learning to establish an objective, rapid, and accurate method for classification and diagnosis of LKA (AML, ALL, and CML). ⋯ In this model, the prediction accuracies of the normal groups, AML, ALL, and CML were 90%, 99%, 97%, and 95%, respectively. The results showed that the leukemic cell morphology classification and diagnosis based on CNN combined with transfer learning is feasible. Compared with conventional manual microscopy, this method is more rapid, accurate, and objective.
