Case Reports
Melanotic neuroectodermal tumor of infancy successfully treated with metformin: A case report.
Melanotic neuroectodermal tumor of infancy (MNTI) is a rare tumor originated from neural crest cells with the potential for recurrence and metastasis. The peak age for the disease is during the first year after birth. The current therapy is primarily surgery. Dental biofilm accumulation and poor personal oral hygiene are known major risk factors for gingivitis and halitosis. However, it is not clear how studies compare the effectiveness of hygiene regimens, associated with outcomes centered on patients. ⋯ Although toothbrushing has shown positive effects in decreasing biofilm and in gingival health, there is no comparison in the literature of different brushing regimens with halitosis measurement in adolescents. In addition, the effectiveness of these protocols would be confirmed from the acceptability of the volunteers.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
A comparison of the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine external treatment for the hyperemesis gravidarum: A protocol for systematic review and network meta-analysis.
The symptoms of frequent nausea and vomiting, inability to eat, and fluid imbalance caused by hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) seriously impact the quality of life of pregnant women. In some serious cases, it is even necessary to terminate the pregnancy, and threatens the life of the pregnant woman. A great many of studies have proved that HG can be effectively treated by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) external treatment. Nevertheless, its relative effectiveness and safety haven't yet been confirmed because of the variety of TCM external treatment. Therefore, we will use the method of network meta-analysis to verify the effectiveness and safety of different types of TCM external treatment for the HG. ⋯ INPLASY 202090089.

During sepsis, platelets dysfunction contributes to organ dysfunction. Studies on platelets dysfunction in the long-term prognosis of sepsis are lacking. The aim of this study was to assess the role of platelets in the long-term prognosis of sepsis patients. ⋯ Platelet was an independent prognostic predictor of 1 year OS for patients with sepsis. Platelet-related nomogram that can predict the 1 year OS of sepsis patients. It revealed optimal discrimination and calibration, indicating that the nomogram may have clinical utility.

Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is one of the most common and disabling outcomes in patients with breast cancer (BC). Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) nonpharmacological interventions are becoming increasingly popular for cancer treatment and rehabilitation interventions. However, their efficacy and safety remain unclear and there is no systematic review or meta-analysis focusing fully on this issue. We aim to evaluate the effects of representative TCM nonpharmacological interventions, including Qigong, Tai Chi, acupuncture, and Tuina, on CRF in BC patients. ⋯ The study is priorly registered through International Platform of Registered Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Protocol on October 2, 2020 (INPLASY 2020100003).
