To identify the prevalence of chronic disease and behavior risk factors of adverse pregnancy outcome for pre-pregnancy couples in Hunan province, China. A retrospective study including cross-sectional datas from the Free Pre-pregnancy Health Check (FPHC) surveillance system of Hunan, China in 2019 was conducted. Microsoft Excel 2010 was used for preliminary data analysis. ⋯ The mean number of risk factors was higher in males than that in females. Hypertension, increased psychological pressure, high alanine transaminase and creatinine levels, smoking, passive smoke exposure, alcohol use, and exposure to dangerous environmental factors were the major risk factors for males. Anemia, work-related pressure and social tensions were the major risk factors for females.

Cardiac remodeling is common in the athletes. Little data is available regarding the cardiac remodeling on the recently proposed 4 sport disciplines among the elite university athletes. A total of 7639 athletes participated in the 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade. ⋯ Eccentric LV hypertrophy was the most common type of cardiac remodeling in the university athletes participated in 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade. Adaptive changes in chamber size were more commonly seen in Endurance sport. RA dilatation was the most sensitive to hemodynamic demand, followed by RV dilatation, LA dilatation, and LV dilatation.

Most degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS) patients primitively received the conservative treatment to control symptoms. In order to develop an optimal surgical treatment strategy, it is very significant to understand how the degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis (DS) affects the effect of decompression in the DLSS. Thus, the aim of this current study was to explore whether the concomitant DS would affect the effect of decompression alone in the patients with DLSS. ⋯ We assumed that previous DS possessed a negative effect on the postoperative results of the DLSS patients.

A patient support group (PSG) can serve the purposes of group therapy and education. However, how to evaluate outcome which can feedback to improve the PSG remains unclear. Health literacy, which is associated with patient outcome, has not been used in the evaluation of PSG. ⋯ We found that the highest score is with the dimension of understanding, and the lowest score with the dimension of appraisal. The elderly participants showed lower abilities in health literacy, especially with the dimension of the appraisal. Results from MMHLQ can be used to adjust the PSG curriculum to improve the health literacy of participants.

To investigate the value of percentile base on computed tomography (CT) histogram analysis for distinguishing invasive adenocarcinoma (IA) from adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) or micro invasive adenocarcinoma (MIA) appearing as pure ground-glass nodules. A total of 42 cases of pure ground-glass nodules that were surgically resected and pathologically confirmed as lung adenocarcinoma between January 2015 and May 2019 were included. Cases were divided into IA and AIS/MIA in the study. ⋯ The combined model demonstrated the best diagnostic performance. The AUC values were as follows: 25th percentile = 0.693, 55th percentile = 0.706, 95th percentile = 0.713, 97.5th percentile = 0.710, and combined model = 0.837 (all P < .05). The percentile of histogram parameters help to improve the ability to radiologically determine the invasiveness of lung adenocarcinoma appearing as pure ground-glass nodules.
