Observational Study
Airway invasion in non-neurologically ill patients with dysphagia: Contributing factors and associated problems during swallowing process. A retrospective observational study.
Dysphagia can occur among patients receiving medical care despite having no history of neurologic disease. The current study aimed to investigate factors contributing to airway invasion among non-neurologically ill patients with dysphagia. This retrospective study included 52 non-neurologically ill patients who complained of swallowing difficulty and consulted the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine for videofluoroscopic swallowing studies between January 2018 and June 2019. ⋯ Moreover, bolus formation, tongue-to-palate contact, premature bolus loss, vallecular residue, coating of pharyngeal wall, and aspiration score differed significantly between both groups (P < .05). Airway invasion among non-neurologically ill patients was related to decreased functional ambulation ability, lower serum albumin concentration, and presence of CAP. The results presented herein can help guide clinical management aimed at preventing airway invasion among non-neurologically ill patients.

The etiology of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM), a rare inflammatory breast disease, is not understood. There is no consensus regarding the treatment of IGM. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of surgery combined with traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of IGM. ⋯ The postoperative Yanghe decoction regimen was associated with more rapid recovery after IGM surgery. Surgical management combined with postoperative oral Yanghe decoction treatment yielded a higher CR rate and lower recurrence rate than surgery alone. The effect of traditional Chinese medicine in IGM treatment requires further study.

Impact of rational emotive behavioral therapy on personal value system of students with visual impairment: A group randomized control study.
Visually impaired students have been reported to struggle with value system and rash decision making process. This study examined the impact of rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) in reducing negative personal value system of visually impaired people. ⋯ We concluded that there is significant impact of rational emotive behavioral therapy on reduction of negative personal value system of students with visual impairment.

Dacryocystitis secondary to neglected silicone tube in lacrimal duct for 10 years: A case report.
Contracture of dacryocyst by an implanted lacrimal silicone tube is rare. This report describes a unique case of secondary dacryocystitis and the contracture of dacryocyst caused by a lacrimal silicone tube that was placed in the lacrimal system for 10 years. ⋯ The findings, in this case, suggest that silicone tubes are safe and effective, and can be placed in the lacrimal drainage system. However, in this patient, prolonged intubation caused chronic inflammation, granulation tissue formation, and dacryocyst contracture. Our findings could inform surgeons to consider the reasonable duration of intubation for treating cases of lacrimal obstruction, in order to avoid unnecessary complications.

Accumulating evidence has indicated that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are the main constituents of competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks. Nonetheless, in the lncRNA-related ceRNA network of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC), the function of cancer-specific lncRNAs, as well as their use for the potential prediction of PTC prognosis, remains unclear. In this study, 384 RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) profiles of PTC patients were attained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), an open-source database that offers vast amounts of RNA-seq data, and 75 miRNAs, 495 lncRNAs, and 1099 mRNAs (P < .05 and |logFC| >2) were detected when compared with normal tissues. ⋯ Through qRT-PCR, we designated 6 cancer-specific lncRNAs as having great significance for survival by verifying their expression in the 60 PTC patients who were diagnosed. The qRT-PCR and TCGA results were completely consistent. Our research provides data for further understanding the lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA ceRNA network and elucidating the molecular mechanisms of PTC.
