This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of PD-L1 in Chinese patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). In this retrospective study, 97 patients with NSCLC were consecutively recruited. The expression profiling of PD-1, PD-L1, p53 and Ki-67 was detected by immunohistochemistry. ⋯ PD-L1 expression status was not significantly associated with disease-free (DFS) or overall survival (OS). However, for patients with advanced disease, PD-L1 positive expression was related to worse outcome (HR: 4.13; 95% CI: 1.06-16.12). Positive PD-L1 expression is associated with more aggressive pathological features and poorer prognosis in advanced stage NSCLC.

Mirizzi syndrome (MS) is an uncommon condition characterized by common hepatic duct (CHD) compression by an impacted gallbladder or cystic duct stones or adjacent inflammation. To date, a standardized therapeutic strategy for MS has not been established yet, owing to its complex clinical presentation. Thus, researchers still have to develop new optimized approaches to solve this problem. Herein, we describe a patient with refractory MS who underwent a successful treatment by novel hybrid anchoring balloon-guided direct peroral cholangioscopy (POC) using an ultraslim endoscope. ⋯ Our novel hybrid anchoring balloon-guided direct POC may be an effective alternative treatment approach for difficult gallbladder cases, such as refractory MS.

Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) has a high prevalence and can be exacerbated by poor physical health and economic hardships, which have become common stressors during the current COVID-19 pandemic. The therapeutic approaches used to treat these patients are not always available, may be not be accepted by some patients, and often require face-to-face interactions. ⋯ NCT04428099.
