To compare the relationship between background parenchymal enhancement (BPE) on contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM), mammographic breast density (MBD), age, in the group with benign vs malignant breast lesions. Four hundred thirty three non-high-risk patients from January 2018 to May 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were assigned into 4 groups: premenopausal benign lesions, premenopausal malignant lesions, postmenopausal benign lesions, and postmenopausal malignant lesions. ⋯ The intensity of CESM BPE was positively correlated with MBD, and the intensity of CESM BPE and MBD were negatively correlated with age. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that age was an influencing factor for breast cancer in both premenopausal and postmenopausal patients. For non-high-risk women, CESM BPE and MBD were not correlated with benign or malignant breast lesions, and age was an influencing factor for breast cancer.

A randomized controlled study for the treatment of middle-aged and old-aged lumbar disc herniation by Shis spine balance manipulation combined with bone and muscle guidance.
Ninety percent of elderly patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH) have problems with the mechanics of the spine and muscle tissue. Shi-style spine balance manipulation combined with guidance (Daoyin) of muscle and bone as an alternative therapy for LDH can tone the muscle groups around the spine and maintain optimal mechanical and static sagittal balance of the spine. This study will be performed to investigate the effect of a combination of Shi-style spine balance manipulation and Daoyin therapy on LDH in middle-aged and elderly patients. ⋯ During the treatment period, any signs of acute adverse events, such as paralysis of the lower extremities or cauda equina syndrome, will be recorded at each visit. Although Shi-style spine manipulation combined with Daoyin therapy has been used in the treatment of LDH in middle-aged and elderly people in China for many years, there is no consensus on its effectiveness. This experiment will provide convincing evidence of the efficacy of Shi-style spine manipulation combined with Daoyin therapy in the treatment of LDH in middle-aged and elderly people.

Existing evidence on the difference in the incidence of tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) patients receiving novel therapies versus patients receiving conventional therapies is limited and inconclusive. The aims of this planned systematic review and meta-analysis are therefore: (1).. assess the TLS incidence reported in clinical trials for the novel or targeted agents comparing to conventional chemotherapeutic agents used to treat patients with CLL. (2).. to identify the TLS prophylaxis strategies that are utilized in clinical trials of the novel or targeted agents for CLL if it was fully reported or under-reported and (3).. to compare the mortality among patients with TLS in conventional versus novel agents. ⋯ The protocol has been registered at the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO; registration number: CRD42020166770). The protocol was registered with the Hamad medical corporation, Medical research Center registry under a unique reference number (MRC-01-20-709).

To compare pregnancy outcomes between patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) with and without their own blood glucose meter. We conducted a retrospective-cohort study of 835 women with GDM at the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin, China from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2018. Perinatal outcomes of these patients were monitored and collected in the Tianjin Maternal and Child Health System. ⋯ However, subgroups with a dietary diary in the control group were better. Self-monitoring blood sugar plus a routine obstetric examination can help patients with GDM control blood sugar, even without dietary diaries and treadmills. In addition to increasing the number of obstetric examinations, recording dietary diaries is helpful for controlling blood sugar in patients with GDM who are unwilling to measure blood sugar by themselves.

Quantitative assessment-based nursing intervention improves bowel function in patients with neurogenic bowel dysfunction after spinal cord injury: Study protocol for a randomized controlled study.
The neurogenic bowel dysfunction is a kind of familiar sequelae of the spinal cord injury (SCI), occurring in 70 to 80 percent of the SCI patients. The nursing intervention based on quantitative evaluation is to fully consider and assess the disease condition of patients, implement the personalized programs of nursing intervention, meet the patient's nursing needs to the maximum extent, improve the quality of nursing, and then facilitate the rehabilitation of patients. Our aim is to implement this program to evaluate the impact of this nursing intervention based on quantitative evaluation on the quality of life and bowel function in the neurogenic bowel dysfunction patients after SCI. ⋯ Nursing intervention based on the quantitative evaluation can improve the quality of life and recovery of intestinal function for the neurogenic intestinal dysfunction patients after SCI.
