Isokinetic training - its radiographic and inflammatory effects on chronic low back pain: A randomized controlled trial.
Isokinetic training (IKT) and core stabilization training (CST) are commonly used for balance training in musculoskeletal conditions. The knowledge about the effective implementation of these training protocols on radiological and biochemical effects in university football players with chronic low back pain (LBP) is lacking. ⋯ Training through Isokinetic is an effective treatment program than conventional exercise programs in the aspect of radiological and biochemical analysis in university football players with chronic LBP, which may also help to prevent further injury. The present study can be used to improve the physical therapist's knowledge and clinical decision skills on LBP in football players.

A prospective randomized controlled clinical trial of Pingmu Decoction combined with acupuncture in the treatment of non-active thyroid-related ophthalmopathy.
Thyroid eye disease of orbital disease first, it is main and clinical expression with exophthalmos, visual impairment, serious influence patient's quality of life and beautiful, especially for the non-active Graves' ophthalmopathy, there is no effective treatment methods at home and abroad, for the non-active thyroid eye disease only recommended surgery, but the procedure pain, poor curative effect, postoperative recurrence, most patients are difficult to accept. Pingmu Decoction can effectively reduce the degree of exophthalmus and TCM syndrome integral, and The combination therapy with acupuncture and moxibustion on the basis of Pingmu Decoction has achieved remarkable clinical effect, but the lack of rigorous evidence of evidence-based medicine (ebm). The test is designed to further evaluate flat mesh in active soup combined with acupuncture treatment of thyroid related ophthalmopathy card belongs to the yang qi-deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis block syndrome in patients with clinical efficacy and safety. ⋯ The results of this trial will provide convincing evidence for the efficacy and safety of Pingmu Decoction combined with acupuncture in the treatment of patients with non-active thyroid-associated eye disease with deficiency of Yang qi and phlegm and blood stasis block, and it will expand the treatment options for patients with non-active thyroid-related eye disease.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a public health problem and the world's leading cancer killer. It is a disease with high incidence and mortality. Although chemotherapy has achieved some success in the treatment of CRC, drug resistance and tumor metastasis caused by chemotherapy are still the main causes of death in patients with CRC. Notably, many side effects associated with chemotherapy, such as nausea, vomiting, and peripheral neurotoxicity, are major challenges in the treatment of patients with CRC. Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) has been widely used as an adjunctive therapy for CRC, but its efficacy and safety are still uncertain. The aim of this systematic review is to assess the efficacy and safety of CHM for the treatment of CRC. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/X2SKJ.

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disease in which antibodies directly target components of the neuromuscular junction, causing neuromuscular conduction damage that leads to muscle weakness. The current pharmaceutical treatment for MG is still not ideal to address the problems of disease progression, high recurrence rate, and drug side effects. Clinical observations suggest that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can strengthen immunity and improve symptoms of MG patients, delay the progression of the disease, reduce or even prevent the need for immunosuppressive therapy when used in combination with acetylcholinesterase inhibitors or low-dose prednisone, as well as improve the quality of life of patients. The Qiangji Jianli Capsule (QJC) is a combination of medicinal herbs which is used in traditional Chinese medicine. Since MG is a rare disorder, randomized controlled trials comparing large cohorts are difficult to conduct. Therefore, we proposed to aggregate data from a small series of N-of-1 trials to assess the effect of the Chinese medical prescription QJC, which strengthens the spleen and nourishes Qi, as an add-on treatment for MG with spleen and stomach Qi deficiency syndrome. ⋯ This study was approved by The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GZUCM), No. ZYYECK[2019]038. The results will be published in a peer-reviewed publication. Regulatory stakeholders will comment on the suitability of the trial for market authorization and reimbursement purposes. A randomized controlled study for the treatment of middle-aged and old-aged lumbar disc herniation by Shis spine balance manipulation combined with bone and muscle guidance.
Ninety percent of elderly patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH) have problems with the mechanics of the spine and muscle tissue. Shi-style spine balance manipulation combined with guidance (Daoyin) of muscle and bone as an alternative therapy for LDH can tone the muscle groups around the spine and maintain optimal mechanical and static sagittal balance of the spine. This study will be performed to investigate the effect of a combination of Shi-style spine balance manipulation and Daoyin therapy on LDH in middle-aged and elderly patients. ⋯ During the treatment period, any signs of acute adverse events, such as paralysis of the lower extremities or cauda equina syndrome, will be recorded at each visit. Although Shi-style spine manipulation combined with Daoyin therapy has been used in the treatment of LDH in middle-aged and elderly people in China for many years, there is no consensus on its effectiveness. This experiment will provide convincing evidence of the efficacy of Shi-style spine manipulation combined with Daoyin therapy in the treatment of LDH in middle-aged and elderly people.
