Mediating effect of social support on the association between life events and depression: A cross-sectional study of adolescents in Chongqing China.
Depression is one of the most common mental health problems in adolescents. The link between negative life events and depression has been well established. However, our understanding about the role of social support in the link, which is likely culture-dependent, is quite limited. ⋯ Both frequency and perceived importance of social support showed a mediating effect on the association between life events and depression. Social support has a mediating effect on the association between life events and depression. Strengthening social support may be considered as an effective interventional strategy on depression in adolescents.

Three metachronous primary lung cancers in a chronic smoker: A case report and review of the literature.
Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Smoking is major risk factor for initial and subsequent lung cancer especially in active smokers. Treatment of subsequent lung cancer depends on whether it is synchronous or metachronous. We report a rare case of triple metachronous lung cancer and review of literature of patients with triple metachronous cancers. This will be the second case reported of triple metachronous lung cancer. ⋯ Smoking is a major risk factor for developing lung cancer and with continued smoking, patients are at higher risk for developing subsequent primary lung cancers. We recommend, patients with lung cancer must quit smoking, and those who do not, should remain on long-term surveillance.

The typical manifestations of patients with a trisomy 21 syndrome are mental retardation and anatomical deformities of face and neck. In the available literature, all case reports regarding anesthetic management of mentally retarded patients have focused on elective surgeries. There is no report regarding anesthetic management of mentally retarded patients undergoing emergency surgery. ⋯ When general anesthesia and emergency airway management are required in the patients with mental retardation and predicted difficult airways, a combination of the supraglottic airway and the flexible bronchoscope maybe a safe and useful choice for airway control.

This study aims to identify the expression of lipoma preferred partner (LPP) in Paget disease (PD) and to further understand the pathogenesis of PD. ⋯ While LPP is expressed in both MPD and EMPD, the intensity of this expression is greater in MPD. LPP expression is positively correlated with Ki-67 and is more prevalent in middle-aged versus senior MPD patients. Further research is needed to determine its potential role in tumorigenesis and distribution.

Clinical characteristics of systemic lupus erythematosus with chylothorax and/or chylous ascites: An analysis of 15 cases in China.
This analysis of clinical data from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with chylothorax and/or chylous ascites was conducted to guide further clinical work. From June 2008 to June 2019, 15 SLE patients (14 females and 1 male) with chylothorax and/or chylous ascites were hospitalized at the Beijing Shijitan Hospital. Sixty SLE patients without chylothorax and chylous ascites were randomly selected as controls. ⋯ Eight patients (53.3%) achieved remission. Chylothorax and/or chylous ascites are rare complications of SLE. An early diagnosis and timely initiation of glucocorticoids, immunosuppressants, and surgery are critical to relieve symptoms and to improve prognosis.
