Obesity is a chronic metabolic disease in which patients are overweight due to the excessive accumulation of fat in the body. As a subtype of acupuncture, catgut embedding at acupoints has increased in clinical application for obesity. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupoint catgut embedding therapy for simple obesity. ⋯ Ethical approval is not necessary since this protocol is only for systematic review and does not involve privacy data. The findings of this study will be disseminated electronically through a peer-review publication or presented at a relevant conference.

The infection of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is 1 of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in the world. People with chronic diseases have a higher risk of depression. The HIV people are more likely to suffer from depression. Appropriate psychosocial interventions are effective, but their accessibility is limited by the resources needed for their transmission. Thus, it makes sense to develop more cost-effective alternatives, for instance the web-based intervention (WBI), which may be effective for the well-being and depression. The aim of our program is to explore the effects of a WBI on depressive symptoms and well-being in HIV-infected patients. ⋯ HIV infected patients can benefit from WBI, which can be utilized as an adjunct to medical treatment.

Clinical characteristics and viral shedding kinetics of 38 asymptomatic patients with coronavirus disease 2019: A retrospective observational study.
This study aims to investigate the clinical characteristics and viral shedding kinetics of asymptomatic patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The data of 38 asymptomatic patients positive for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid were collected from February to March 2020 in Tuanfeng County, Huanggang, Hubei, China. The epidemiology, laboratory examination, chest imaging, viral nucleic acid test results, clinical characteristics, and viral shedding time were summarized in this retrospective study. ⋯ Chest imaging did not show any pneumonia manifestation. The viral shedding time was <10 days, which is shorter than that of patients with COVID-19. A timely discovery of such asymptomatic infections is crucial for blocking the spread of the virus and strengthening the prevention and control measures.
