The arrival of transcatheter mitral valve therapies has provided feasible and safe alternatives to medical and surgical treatments for mitral regurgitation. The aim of this study is to estimate the relative efficacy and safety of different transcatheter mitral valve therapies for mitral regurgitation patients through network meta-analysis. ⋯ INPLASY2020110034.

Hypertension (HT) has recently been defined as a systolic blood pressure (BP) of ≥130 mm Hg and/or a diastolic BP of ≥80 mm Hg. It is important to further understand the pathophysiology of essential HT as its proportion is larger among most of the diagnosed HT cases. The apelin and apelin receptor (APLNR) are known to play roles in regulating BP, but the putative associations of single nucleotide polymorphisms in the APLNR gene with the risk of development of essential HT have not yet been fully investigated. ⋯ OR, 1.88; 95% CI, 1.13-3.12; I = 79% for AA vs AG + GG). Our study showed, for the first time, the existence of an association between rs7119375 and the risk of development of essential HT in the Chinese population, although the sample size was small and there was considerable population heterogeneity. The apelin/APLNR system could be a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of essential HT, and more studies are warranted to further investigate the association.

Hemiarthroplasty versus total hip arthroplasty for displaced femoral neck fracture in patients older than 80 years: A randomized trial protocol.
The forms of treatment which are available for these patients include internal fixation, hemiarthroplasty (HA), or total hip arthroplasty (THA). Both HA and THA are widely used methods of hip replacement after displaced femoral neck fracture (DFNF). Our purpose is to analyze the long-term outcomes of these 2 different forms of treatment, which are suitable for active patients with femoral neck intracapsular fractures ≥80 years of age without advanced osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. ⋯ This trial is expected to be the largest randomized trial assessing the efficacy of THA and HA and powered to detect a potential difference in the primary outcome.

Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (HT) is one of the common autoimmune diseases, which can lead to thyroid reduction, increase the risk of tumor, and seriously affect women's reproductive health. Many other autoimmune diseases are easy to occur, seriously harming people's health.large dose herb Prunella or compound prescription contain large dose Prunella for treatment of HT has already been confirmed. However, due to the lack of evidence, there is no specific method or suggestion, it is necessary to carry out a systematic evaluation on Prunella and provide effective evidence for further research. ⋯ This study is a systematic review, the outcomes are based on the published evidence, so examination and agreement by the ethics committee are not required in this study. We intend to publish the study results in a journal or conference presentations.Open Science Fra mework (OSF) registration number:October 21, 2020.osf.io/fcyqp. (https://osf.io/fcyqp).

The effectiveness of far-infrared irradiation on foot skin surface temperature and heart rate variability in healthy adults over 50 years of age: A randomized study.
Far-infrared irradiation (FIR) is used in the medical field to improve wound healing, hemodialysis with peripheral artery occlusive disease, and osteoarthritis but seldom used in ameliorating poor lower extremity circulation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of FIR on changes in foot skin surface temperature (FSST) and autonomic nerve system (ANS) activity to evaluate its effectiveness in improving lower limb circulation. ⋯ FIR significantly increased the FSST from between 4°C and 7°C after 40 minutes irradiation, which might improve lower extremity circulation and regulation of ANS activity.
