Atherosclerosis is the pathological basis of many cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and its pathogenesis is complex. Recent studies revealed a significant role of gut microbiota in the onset and development of atherosclerosis. Traditional Chinese medicine has rich clinical experience and unique advantages in the treatment of atherosclerosis. A large number of studies have proved that traditional Chinese medicine has the functions of reducing blood lipid, regulating gut microbiota, and resisting inflammation. The aim of this systematic review is to observe the randomized controlled trial of traditional Chinese medicine in treating gut microbiota, so as to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine in treating atherosclerosis patients. ⋯ INPLASY2020110056.

This paper aimed to analyze the clinicopathological characteristics of invasive ductal carcinoma with an invasive micropapillary carcinoma component (IDC + IMPC), invasive ductal carcinoma with a ductal carcinoma in situ component (IDC + DCIS), and compare the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis to those of IDC. A total of 1713 patients (130 IDC + IMPC cases, 352 IDC + DCIS cases, and 1231 pure IDC cases) who underwent appropriate surgery from June 2011 to September 2017 were retrospectively selected. Compared to the pure IDC and IDC + DCIS patients, the IDC + IMPC patients presented with more aggressive characteristics, such as a higher proportion of vascular invasion (P < .001), fewer progesterone receptor (PR)-positive patients (P < .001), a lower proportion of cases in American Joint Committee on Cancer stage I (P < .001), a higher recurrence risk (P < .001), more deaths (P < .001), and more metastatic cases (P < .001). ⋯ In multivariate analysis, coexisting IMPC (P = .04) was the only independent prognostic factor associated with OS. Compared to IDC and IDC + DCIS, IDC + IMPC had more aggressive characteristics and significantly worse DFS and OS. Compared to IDC and IDC + IMPC, IDC + DCIS had less aggressive characteristics and significantly better DFS and OS.

A very large acceleration in clinical studies on the efficacy of fire needle to treat lumbar disc herniation (LDH) are increasing, while studies on the assessment of its efficacy are still lacking. Therefore, this study will demonstrate the efficacy of fire needle in the treatment of LDH combining with the meta-analysis. ⋯ PROSPERO (registration number CRD42020158596).

Peony and licorice decoction fumigation treatment for strephenopodia after stroke: Study protocol for a randomized controlled pilot trial.
As one of the most common functional disabilities in stroke patients with hemiplegia, poststroke strephenopodia (PSS) seriously affects the life quality of patients, and causes mental and emotional disorders. Some studies have suggested that the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation therapy could be an effective intervention method for patients with PSS. This study aims to investigate the biomechanical effect of the classic prescription peony and licorice decoction (PLD) fumigation treatment for PSS. ⋯ The results of this study are expected to verify the clinical effect of PLD fumigation treatment for strephenopodia after stroke, and to explore the related biomechanical mechanisms by objective evaluation parameter.

Angina pectoris in coronary heart disease (CHD) is a common ischemic heart disease clinically. During the onset, patients often have symptoms such as chest discomfort or paroxysmal crushing pain in the posterior sternum, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients, and even can lead to myocardial infarction and endanger the lives of patients. Clinical studies have shown that the compound Chinese prescription Xuefu Zhuyu decoction combined with western medicine has a certain therapeutic effect on angina pectoris in CHD, but lack of evidence of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Xuefu Zhuyu decoction combined with western medicine in the treatment of angina pectoris in CHD. ⋯ DOI 10.17605 / OSF.IO / GFEQ7.
