Meta Analysis
Effectiveness of different types of ultrasonography screening for developmental dysplasia of the hip: A meta-analysis.
Infant hip screening for early detection of developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is essential as early detection can enable less invasive treatments and achieve better long-term results. A previous meta-analysis assessed about 10,000 infants per group, which is insufficient for evaluating the effect of different infant hip screening strategies on early detection and treatment of DDH. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis using both randomized controlled trials and cohort studies to determine the effects of universal hip ultrasonography screening (UHUS) and selective hip ultrasonography screening (SHUS) on the incidence of late-diagnosed DDH. ⋯ Our meta-analysis suggests that a statistically significant decrease in the incidence of late-diagnosed DDH is possible when UHUS is adopted compared with SHUS. Our study provides information about the effects of different infant hip screening strategies on the incidence of late-diagnosed DDH, which can help decide upon which strategy to apply.

Exercise training has a lot of potential benefits for hemodialysis patients. And some guidelines emphasize the importance of exercise for maintenance hemodialysis. However, there are many barriers to encourage hemodialysis patients to increase their level of physical activity. A broader understanding of the specific barriers is needed. ⋯ CRD42020200278. Interleukin 6 (IL-6) inhibitors are the first-line treatment for idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD); however, there is no established treatment for cases that are resistant to IL-6 inhibitors. Although sirolimus, a mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitor, has been suggested to be effective in patients with iMCD, the long-term safety and efficacy of sirolimus on individuals with IL-6 inhibitor-resistant iMCD have not been evaluated. ⋯ This clinical trial will provide evidence regarding the long-term safety of sirolimus as a potential novel therapeutic agent for patients with tocilizumab-resistant iMCD.

Anaesthesia and ICU sedation with sevoflurane do not reduce myocardial injury in patients undergoing cardiac surgery: A randomized prospective study.
To evaluate the effect of anaesthesia and ICU sedation with sevoflurane to protect the myocardium against ischemia-reperfusion injury associated to cardiac surgery assessed by troponin release. ⋯ The use of an anaesthesia and ICU sedation with sevoflurane was not associated with a lower incidence of myocardial injury assessed by cTnI. Sevoflurane administration was associated with higher prevalence of acute renal failure and higher GDF-15 values.

Self-care education program improves quality of life in patients with chronic heart failure: A randomized controlled study protocol.
The objective of our research is to explore the efficiency of self-care education on the life quality in chronic heart failure (CHF) patients. ⋯ The program of self-care education can be regarded as the proper method to improve the life quality in CHF patients.
