Lipoma Arborescens is a rare pathology that mainly affects the knee. Occurrences in the elbow are even more uncommon and mainly involve the bicipitoradial bursa. ⋯ This is the first illustrated case report about lipoma arborescens involving the whole elbow joint. Even though it is a rare disease, awareness of its presentation, imaging patterns, and treatment options is therefore important for clinicians, radiologists, and surgeons. In this case, arthroscopic treatment resulted in satisfactory and long-lasting pain relief and functional results. It may be considered as a safe and effective option in case of failed nonoperative measures.

It is difficult to repair large skull and dural defects. We observed the therapeutic effects of anterolateral thigh flaps with vascular fascia lata for repairing large skull and dural defects. From December 2008 to June 2019, we repaired large skull and dural defects for 28 cases including 12 cases with scalp malignant tumor and 16 cases requiring removal of titanium mesh which had been once placed due to craniocerebral trauma. ⋯ The 12 cases with scalp malignant tumor had no local recurrence or distant metastasis. Repairing the skull and dural defects caused by radical surgery for scalp malignant tumor or removal of titanium mesh using anterolateral thigh flaps with vascular fascia lata, is effective. The appearance in the head-repaired area is fine without external hernia of brain tissue.

Hematoma of the iliopsoas muscle is a rare condition. Prolonged pressure conditions due to hematoma of the femoral nerve can cause severe pain in the affected groin, hip, and thigh, and quadriceps weakness. We report a rare case of a spontaneous iliopsoas muscle hematoma that caused sudden femoral neuropathy. ⋯ Imaging studies are fundamental to diagnose of iliopsoas hematoma. Electromyography examination plays an important role in determining the prognosis of patients and lesion site. Despite the negligible change in sitting position, hematoma can develop. Physicians should consider hematoma that cause femoral neuropathy.

Sports injury type and psychological factors affect treatment period and willingness-to-pay: Cross-sectional study.
This study aimed to describe the sport injuries of elite collegiate athletes, and to examine the influence of career length, past injuries, and psychological factors on the treatment period and willingness to pay (WTP) for treatment. A survey was conducted among students of the Department of Physical Education, Korea National Sport University. Results were interpreted through frequency analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. ⋯ The treatment period was influenced by sports discipline, career length, location, and type of injury, and fear of further injuries. Treatment period was associated with the reason for fear of injuries, and WTP was influenced by fear of further injuries. Our study suggests that specific management plans for athletes based on disciplines, past injuries, and their emotional responses to previous injuries are required for rehabilitation and return to sports following treatment.

The first confirmed community transmission of coronavirus disease 2019 in Daegu Metropolitan City, South Korea, occurred on February 18, 2020. In the following 70-day period, approximately 6000 new cases occurred, severely impacting the medical service system. This study investigated the crisis-impact on the local emergency transport system. ⋯ In terms of condition, the statistical effect size for delay in transport time was from large to small: fever, hypoxia, abnormal respiratory rate, respiratory symptom, and hypotension. Outbreaks of infectious disease cause a paradoxical state in emergency medical transport systems, inducing delays in the transport of severely ill patients. Therefore, maintenance and improvement of the medical service system for both patients with infectious disease and those with other severe illnesses is required.
