Patients with gouty arthritis suffer from intermittent attacks of pain, chronic inflammation, and joint damage. Acupuncture has been used in East Asian countries for centuries to treat various diseases, and several clinical studies have reported that acupuncture has beneficial effects on gouty arthritis. This study aims to evaluate the effect of acupuncture in patients with gouty arthritis by conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42020169668.

A cataract is a degenerative change in the optical quality of the lens caused by protein denaturation. Modern medicine is mainly based on surgical treatment. Cataract surgery is often accompanied by severe inflammation, and glucocorticoid therapy has many adverse reactions and side effects. The non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug sodium bromfenac not only has good anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-allergic effects, but also does not produce side effects caused by hormone drugs. Clinical studies have shown that sodium bromfenac eye drops have a good curative effect in treating postoperative inflammation of cataract, with low recurrence rate and certain therapeutic advantages, but lack of evidence-based medicine evidence. The purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of sodium bromfenac eye drops in the treatment of postoperative inflammation of cataracts. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/3KP7R.

Effect of home-based reablement program on improving activities of daily living for patients with stroke: A pilot study.
Administering activities of daily living (ADL) and recovery of ADL functions are the main treatment goals in rehabilitation for patients with stroke. Reablement is one form of rehabilitative intervention, which aims to restore ADL functions performed in the community. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of home-based reablement from 3 concepts of ADL (ie, actual performance, ability, and self-perceived difficulty) for patients with stroke. ⋯ For patients with stroke, the 6-week home-based reablement program had similar effects with the control group on patients' perceived performance, satisfaction, and difficulty in ADL, but it displayed potential for enhancing their ability in executing ADL tasks.

Percutaneous endoscopic interlaminar discectomy (PEID) has been widely used in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation and spinal stenosis, epidural steroids following PEID in an effort to reduce the incidence and duration of postoperative pain. Although steroids are widely thought to reduce the effect of surgical trauma, the observation index is not uniform, so the issue is still controversial. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of local epidural steroids application following PEID. ⋯ INPLASY2020100085.

Rectovaginal fistula (RVF) is a pathologic channel between the anterior wall of the rectum and the posterior wall of the vagina, is rare, and the majority is of traumatic origin. The most common causes are obstetric trauma, local infection, rectal surgery or caused by chronic inflammatory bowel disease. Once the disease will seriously affect the patient's quality of life, and generally not self-healing, most require surgical intervention. At present, diverting stoma is mainly used in patients with severe RVF or complicated RVF or patients with Crohn disease. Due to the lack of large sample, linical studies, its clinical effectiveness is still controversial. The purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate the efficacy of diverting stoma in the treatment of diverting stoma. ⋯ INPLASY2020090070.
