Asthma exacerbations can do a lot of harm to the patients and consume large amounts of medical resources. Although some studies have evaluated acupuncture for asthma in children, few studies have estimated acupoint catgut embedding therapy. We aim to assess the efficacy and safety of acupoint catgut embedding for asthma in adults. ⋯ This systematic review will retrieve clinical randomized controlled trials (RCT) on acupoint catgut embedding for asthma in 7 databases, aiming to describe and update existing evidence on the efficacy and safety of acupoint catgut embedding for asthma in adults.PROSPERO registration number: CRD42019148401.

A large number of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have shown that traditional Chinese exercises (TCE) have certain advantages in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH). However, due to the diversity of TCE methods, their relative effectiveness has not been studied and explained. Therefore, based on the network meta-analysis (NMA), this study will compare the differences in the effectiveness of TCE methods in the treatment of LDH, in order to provide a reference for clinical treatment. ⋯ This proposed systematic review will evaluate the different advantages of various types of TCE in the treatment of LDH.

Atopic dermatitis (AD, atopic eczema) is a pruritic, inflammatory, chronic skin disease. Since there is limitation of conventional treatment of AD, traditional herbal medicine can be an attractive therapeutic option in patients having AD for a long time. So-Cheong-Ryong-Tang (SCRT) has been found to inhibit histamine release and degranulation of mast cells, differentiation of basophils, and proliferation of eosinophils. We designed this clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SCRT as compared to placebo in patients with AD and respiratory disorders. ⋯ To the best of our knowledge, SCRT has rarely been reported for dermatologic diseases. This will be the first clinical trial to assess the efficacy and safety of SCRT in patients with AD and respiratory disorders. We hope that the results of this trial will provide evidence for the use of SCRT as a new treatment for AD with respiratory disorders.
