Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) is widely used as an adjunctive treatment for ischemic stroke. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of GBE specifically for long-term users at the convalescence stage of ischemic stroke. ⋯ GBE appears to improve neurological function and dependence compared with conventional therapy for ischemic stroke at different stages and appears generally safe for clinical application. The lack of improvement in recurrence rate was confirmed by trial sequential analysis. Due to the generally weak evidence, further large, rigorous trials are warranted.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) with abnormal transaminase were main targeted disorder in clinical intervention. Acupuncture embedding has been used as a modified acupuncture therapy in current management, while no comprehensive summarization has been established. Hence, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupoint embedding alone or in combination for NAFLD with abnormal transaminase, and to provide potential regimen for further verification. ⋯ To some extent, the systematic review supported the application of acupoint embedding in management of NAFLD, while further high-quality studies should be designed to evaluate the practical effect of acupoint embedding.

Review Case Reports
Atypical myeloproliferative neoplasm with concurrent BCR-ABL1 fusion and CALR mutation: A case report and literature review.
Concurrent calreticulin (CALR) mutation and BCR-ABL1 fusion are extremely rare in chronic myelogenous leukemia; to date, only 12 cases have been reported. ⋯ In this case report and review of additional 12 cases with simultaneous presence of CALR-mutation and BCR-ABL1 fusion, we highlighted the importance of integrating clinical, morphological, and molecular genetic data for classifying atypical myeloid neoplasms.

The incidence of obstetric hemorrhage due to pernicious placenta previa (PPP) and placenta accreta is currently increasing in China. Parallel transverse uterine incision (PTUI) cesarean section (CS) is a novel technique designed to avoid transecting the placenta and control postpartum hemorrhage during CS in these patients in our hospital. A key point of anesthesia management related to PTUI CS involves keeping the uterus relaxed. General anesthesia (GA) has often been performed, and inhaled volatile anesthetics have traditionally been recommended for this purpose; however, GA may be contraindicated in patients with difficult airways. ⋯ Intravenous nitroglycerin and combined spinal-epidural anesthesia may offer an alternative to GA for achieving uterine relaxation in patients with PPP and a predicted difficult airway undergoing PTUI CS to control postpartum hemorrhage.

Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis of modified Stoppa approach and ilioinguinal approach in anterior pelvic ring and acetabular fractures.
The purpose of this meta-analysis was to compare the efficacy of the modified Stoppa approach (MSA) and ilioinguinal approach (IA) in the treatment of anterior pelvic ring and acetabular fractures. ⋯ Level IV, meta-analysis.
