Case Reports
A case report on intensive, robot-assisted rehabilitation program for brainstem radionecrosis.
Radiotherapy is a valid treatment option for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. However, complications can occur following irradiation of the closest anatomical structures, including brainstem radionecrosis (BRN). The rehabilitation is poorly described in patients with BRN, despite its usefulness in improving functional independence in patients with brain tumors. We aimed at testing the usefulness of intensive, robot-assisted neurorehabilitation program to improve functional independence in a 57-year-old male with BRN. ⋯ Our case suggests the usefulness of neurorobotic intensive rehabilitation in BRN to reduce functional disability. Future studies should investigate whether an earlier, even multidisciplinary rehabilitative treatment could lead to better functional outcome in patients with BRN.

Thin endometrium, defined as <7 mm of the endometrial thickness around ovulation period, had been identified as a negative factor on pregnancy rate of infertile women. It was considered to be the toughest part in treatment of infertility, because there was a lack of significant effect, although many drugs had been already used. Icariin was one of the major bioactive pharmaceutical constituent extracted from the Chinese herb "Ying Yang Huo," in the genus of Epimedium, and some randomized controlled trials reported its application for thin endometrium. There is no systematic review focusing on the effective of icariin in treating infertile women with thin endometrium, so our review aims to explore it. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42019148977.

A patient presented the abdominal wall protrusion due to tophaceous gout of the spine. Similar cases were not reported in the literature. This study aimed to report a case of tophaceous gout of the spine with abdominal wall protrusion. ⋯ This case highlighted that axial gout could mimic thoracic disk herniation clinically. The abdominal wall weakness might also be due to single T11 nerve compression by the tophaceous gout of the spine. In patients with a history of gout, axial gout should be considered as one of the differential diagnoses.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Effect of continuous nursing care based on the IKAP theory on the quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A randomized controlled study.
To explore the effect of continuous nursing care based on the Information, Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (IKAP) theory on the quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ⋯ Continuous nursing care based on Information, Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice theory improved quality of scores at 3 months after intervention among COPD patients. Given limitations of the study, future large-scale studies are needed to validate our results.
