Is intravenous thrombolysis safe for acute ischemic stroke patients taking warfarin with INR 1.9?: A case report.
Intravenous thrombolysis is not suitable for patients undergoing oral anticoagulants therapy, with INR > 1.7 or PT > 15 s. We described a case of intravenous thrombolysis in a patient with INR 1.9. ⋯ The clinical guidelines are still the main reference for guiding clinical practice, and the main thrombolytic standards and contraindications for treatment still need to be conformed. On this basis, for individualized patients, clinicians must accurately judge the cause of acute stroke, to make optimal choice, reduce disability and mortality, and improve quality of life of patients.

Neuroblastoma is the most prevalent malignancy in infants characterized by heterogeneous prognosis. It is critical to stratify the risks for patients with neuroblastoma. To stratify the risks for neuroblastoma, clinical characteristics of neuroblastoma patients were retrieved from the Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatment program. ⋯ The overall survival rate was significantly different between the PI discriminated high and low-risk patient subgroups. In conclusion, besides traditional staging systems, some newly defined risk factors could be involved in risk stratification for patients with neuroblastoma. Our nomogram may aid the risk stratification for neuroblastoma patients.

About 11% to 13% of patients with acute dysphagia induced by stroke remain chronic dysphagia 6 months after stroke which usually leads to many severe complications and poor quality of life. To investigate the effect of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on swallowing function in the patients with chronic dysphagia after stroke.26 post-stroke patients with chronic dysphagia who received tDCS were identified by electronic medical records between July 2016 and April 2018. Of which, 13 were treated by unilateral hemispheric anodal tDCS at affected pharyngeal motor cortex. 13 eligible patients only treated by conventional therapies but without tDCS were randomly selected by matching on date of admission (±2 weeks) of the patients receiving unilateral tDCS. ⋯ The swallowing function and quality of life of the patients in all the 3 groups had been improved over time. Comparing to the group without tDCS, both the groups with unilateral or bilateral tDCS had shorter oral transit time (1.69 ± 0.95, 0.97 ± 0.71 seconds, respectively) and higher scores of quality of life (159.76 ± 12.59, 179.69 ± 11.81, respectively) after treatment. Both unilateral and bilateral hemispheric anodal tDCS combined with conventional therapies are helpful for recovery of swallowing function in patients with chronic dysphagia induced by stroke, but bilateral anodal tDCS substantially improve more.

Flexible flatfoot is a condition characterized by the deformations of the foot where the calcaneus is pronated by weight support. Flat feet can affect balance and the entire chain of motion, causing indirect problems in adjacent joints. We investigated the effects of short foot exercise (SFE) using visual feedback on the static balance and function of proximal joints in subjects with flexible flat feet. ⋯ This study examined the influence of SFE using visual feedback on the balance and accuracy of knee joint movements in subjects with flatfoot and demonstrated that this exercise, using visual feedback, improved the balance and accuracy of knee movement.

Periarthritis of shoulder (PAS) symptom is one of the leading causes prompting many patients to seek treatment. Tuina is a common treatment for PAS in China.
