This study used the meta-analytic approach to assess the safety and treatment efficacy of bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) with core decompression (CD) for osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) based on randomized controlled trials (RCTs). ⋯ Compared with CD treated alone in the treatment of ONFH, combined utilization of CD and autologous BMSCs implantation has a better pain relief and clinical outcomes and can delay the collapse of the femoral head more effectively.

Inhaler device feature preferences among patients with obstructive lung diseases: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Bronchodilators administered through inhalation devices are the mainstay treatment for patients with obstructive lung diseases. Patients do not view devices as interchangeable. This systematic review and meta-analysis examined device feature preferences among patients with obstructive lung diseases treated with handheld inhalers. ⋯ Nineteen studies (n = 11,256) were included in this meta-analysis. Average age ranged from 50.4 to 74.3 years. The majority of patients were male (57%) and had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (92%).Patients preferred the following device features: CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS OF KEY FINDINGS:: Adults with obstructive lung diseases preferred small inhaler devices that were portable, durable, perceived as easy to use, and fast in medication administration. Healthcare providers should give due consideration to the patient's device feature preferences when developing a treatment plan that prescribes an inhalation device.

Published findings on perinatal outcomes of multifetal pregnancy reduction (MPR) of dichorionic diamniotic (DCDA) twin pregnancy to singleton are controversial. We performed a meta-analysis to appraise the effects of MPR of DCDA twin pregnancy versus expectant management on perinatal outcomes. ⋯ Compared to expectant management, MPR of DCDA twin pregnancy to singleton prevents preterm birth and low birth weight, without increasing the risk of miscarriages. Regarding perinatal morbidity related to preterm birth, MPR can be reserved as a remediation measure to improve the perinatal outcomes of DCDA twin pregnancies.

To systematically analyze the differences of complications between percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) and percutaneous interlaminar endoscopic discectomy (PIED) in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. ⋯ Dural tear was significantly less occured in PTED compared with PIED. The postoperative dysesthesia, nerve root injury, surgical site wound complications, recurrence, conversion to open surgery, incomplete decompression, and total complication did not differ significantly between PTED and PIED in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation.

Functional constipation (FC) is one of the most common diseases throughout the world, which brings a bad influence on life quality as well as mental health. Massage has been widely used in the treatment of functional constipation in china. In several randomized controlled trials indicate that massage has a positive effect on FC. However, there remain exist controversy towards its effectiveness and safety. What's more, how about the short and long-term efficacy? We, therefore, design this systematic review to assess the short and long-term effects of massage for FC. ⋯ Ethical approval is not required, for this review will not involve individuals' information. The results will be published in a peer-reviewed publication or disseminated in relevant conferences.INPLASY Registration number: INPLASY202050001.
