Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a chronic lung disease common in premature infants and is one of the leading causes of disability and death in newborns. The Keap-1/Nrf2 signaling pathway plays an important role in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Ten clean-grade, healthy pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats (purchased from Experimental Animal Center of Peking university, China) naturally gave birth to 55 neonatal rats from which 40 were selected and randomly divided into a hyperoxia group and a control group (N = 20, each). ⋯ The expression of Nrf2 and HO-1 mRNA and protein in the hyperoxia group was significantly higher than that of control group. For the infants with BPD, we found that the activity of SOD, GSH-Px, and CAT was significantly different from those of control group. We constructed a premature BPD animal model and found the abnormal of oxidative stress in different groups and the expression levels of Keap1/Nrf2 signaling pathway-related molecules, and we validated the results in premature infants with BPD.

Premature ovarian failure (POF) is commonly treated with hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Many patients with POF choose acupuncture as a complementary therapy over HRT, due to possible adverse reactions. This systematic review and network meta-analysis (NMA) compares the efficacy of different forms of acupuncture therapies for POF. ⋯ With clinical evidence summarized by NMA, it is observed that acupuncture is the most promising therapy for improving menopausal symptoms, decreasing serum follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone level. Therefore, acupuncture could be effective for patients with POF, who are intolerant to the adverse effects of hormone replacement therapy or who would prefer non-drug therapies. Further multi-center and high-quality RCT studies should be conducted to make our conclusion more rigorous.

Primary hepatic neuroendocrine carcinoma coexisting with distal cholangiocarcinoma: A case report and review of the literature.
Although primary hepatic neuroendocrine carcinomas, whose prognostic mechanisms remain unclear, are rare, coexistence of neuroendocrine carcinomas and other tumors is rarer. In this report, we describe a unique case of coexistence between primary hepatic neuroendocrine carcinoma and a distal cholangiocarcinoma in the pancreas. ⋯ A unique case of a coexistence of primary hepatic neuroendocrine carcinoma and a distal cholangiocarcinoma, which had invaded the pancreas. No treatment guidelines are established for the treatment of the unique case.

Esophageal carcinoma (EC) is one of the worst malignant digestive neoplasms with a strong tendency of invasion and metastasis. Despite the improvement of diagnostic and therapeutic methods in the past decades, the prognosis of EC remains unsatisfactory. Xiaoaiping injection (XAPI), a famous traditional Chinese herbal medicine, has been widely applied as a promising adjunctive drug for EC. However, the exact effects and safety of XAPI have yet to be systematically investigated. We aimed to summarize the efficacy and safety of XAPI for the treatment of advanced EC through the meta-analysis, in order to provide scientific reference for the design of future clinical trials. ⋯ INPLASY202050094.
