Embolization for intractable spontaneous hemarthrosis of the knee joint in the elderly patient: Case report.
Several case reports about the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches of hemarthrosis after total knee arthroplasty using angiogram have been reported, owing to the probability of bleeding caused by vascular injuries. However, there were only few cases of spontaneous hemarthrosis of the knee joint in the elderly patient that have not undergone total knee arthroplasty that have been previously reported. ⋯ Until 1 year after embolization, there were no signs of recurrence on outpatient follow-up sessions LESSONS:: Degenerative changes of the genicular arteries may be a cause of spontaneous knee joint hemarthrosis in the elderly patients. Angiographic diagnosis and treatment may be effective for such cases.

To investigate the gene rearrangement and mutation of lymphoma biomarkers including (Immunoglobulin H (IgH), Immunoglobulin kappa (IGK), Immunoglobulin lambda (IGL), and TCR) in the lymphoma diagnosis. ⋯ In this study, we will use B and T cell lymphoma analysis focusing on IgH, IGK, IGL, and TCR gene rearrangement, so as to provide early guidance for the diagnosis of lymphoma. Second generation sequencing technology is helpful in the differential diagnosis of lymphoma.

Comparative Study
Characteristics and surgical invervention of ovarian torsion in pregnant compared with nonpregnant women.
The aim of our study was to compare the clinical and surgical characteristics of pregnant and nonpregnant women with surgically verified ovarian torsion, as well as the differences among 3 trimesters during pregnancy. We conducted a retrospective study of patients diagnosed with surgically proven ovarian torsion in our hospital from January 2012 to June 2018. The clinical characteristics, surgical procedure, pathologic outcomes, and trimesters of pregnancy were analyzed. ⋯ Clinical presentation of ovarian torsion is relatively similar between pregnant and nonpregnant women, and among different trimesters. The tumor size was smaller in the third trimester of pregnancy than the other 2 trimesters of pregnancy. Cystectomy performed in pregnant patients is more during the third trimester compared with the other 2 trimesters.

There is an increasing and compelling need for early recognition of features of osmotic demyelination syndrome (ODS), and a further attempt at correcting this even where presentation is late. ⋯ Regardless of the temporal profile of neurologic sequelae following ODS due to hyponatremia, its worthwhile attempting initial sodium relowering with dextrose 5% and desmopressin and then monitoring of biochemical and neurologic markers.

Activin B signaling may promote the conversion of normal fibroblasts to scar fibroblasts.
This study is to explore the molecular mechanism of benign bile duct hypertrophic scar formation. Differential proteins between the normal fibroblast (NFB) and scar fibroblast (SCFB) were screened by protein chip assay, and analyzed by pathway-enrichment analysis and function-enrichment analysis. The differential proteins were further tested by ELISA. ⋯ The expression of Act B, Smad2/3, TGF-β1 were increased (P < .05) and Tsp-1, OSM were decreased (P < .01). There are differentially expressed proteins between SCFBs and NFBs. Activin B signal plays an important role in the process of NFB transforming to SCFB, and TGF-β1, Smad2/3, Tsp-1, and OSM are important participants.
