To observe the efficacy of telbivudine in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) women with high viral load during pregnancy and the long-term effects on intelligence, growth, and development of the newborns. A total of 87 patients were included. Forty-two patients received telbivudine orally 600 mg per day and treatment initiated from 12 weeks after gestation until the 12th postpartum week. ⋯ No statistical differences were observed between the 2 groups regarding maternal cesarean section rate, adverse pregnancy rate, postpartum bleeding rate, neonatal body mass, Apgar score, neonatal malformation incidence, or intelligence development of newborn. Telbivudine is effective to reduce the viral load in CHB mothers with high viral load and could lower the perinatal transmission rate. Both mental and physical development in neonates with exposure to telbivudine during perinatal period were similar to those without telbivudine exposure.

Case Reports
Late presenting congenital diaphragmatic hernia misdiagnosed as a pleural effusion: A case report.
Late presenting congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) that develops after the neonatal period has various clinical manifestations and can often be misdiagnosed as pleural effusion, pneumonia, or pneumothorax. We report an adolescent case who was transferred to our hospital after iatrogenic gastric perforation during chest tube thoracotomy caused by misdiagnosis of pleural effusion. ⋯ Late presenting CDH can be misdiagnosed as pleural effusion on chest x-ray, so special attention should be given to a differential diagnosis to avoid any serious complications.

Observational Study
Surgical treatment of acute calculous cholecystitis complicated with hepatic dysfunction.
To evaluate the timing, feasibility, and necessity of early laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in the management of patients with acute calculous cholecystitis complicated with hepatic dysfunction. The clinical data of 60 patients with acute calculous cholecystitis complicated with hepatic dysfunction treated from January 2016 to January 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. A total of 32 patients underwent LC within 72 hours of the cholecystitis attack, 28 patients after 72 hours. ⋯ All the patients were cured. It is safe, feasible, and necessary to perform LC within 72 hours in patients with acute calculous cholecystitis complicated with hepatic dysfunction. Such patients show a high positive correlation between the inflammation of acute calculous cholecystitis and the damage of hepatic function.

Efficacy and safety of Lian-Hua Qing-Wen granule for COVID-2019: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global pandemic caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). Since the outbreak, the disease has caused more than 60,502 deaths worldwide. Lian-Hua Qing-Wen Granule (LHQWG) is widely used in treating COVID-19 in China. However, there is no evidence that LHQWG is effective for COVID-19. ⋯ 10.17605/OSF.IO/27SBU.
