Observational Study
Clinical manifestations and genetic analysis of 4 children with chronic granulomatous disease.
Pediatricians are unfamiliar with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) because of its rarity and paucity of available data, potentially leading to misdiagnosis, late treatments, and mortality. The main purpose of this study was to summarize the clinical manifestations and auxiliary examination findings of four children with CGD confirmed by genetic testing. This was a case series study of children hospitalized at the Pediatric Respiratory Department of Shandong Provincial Hospital. ⋯ Gene sequencing could provide molecular evidence for diagnosis. The treatments of CGD include the prevention and treatment of infections and complications. Immunologic reconstitution treatment is currently the only curative treatment for CGD.

Drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) is a very tricky disorder, which greatly affects quality of life in such patients. Relevant studies suggested that vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has potential benefits for DRE. However, there are inconsistent conclusions. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether VNS is effective and safety for DRE. ⋯ INPLASY202040086.

Efficacy of bimatoprost for the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma: A protocol of systematic review and meta-analysis.
Bimatoprost has been reported to treat primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) effectively. However, up-to-date, no systematic review has specifically addressed the efficacy and safety of bimatoprost for the treatment of POAG. Therefore, this study will propose to appraise the efficacy and safety of bimatoprost for the treatment of POAG. ⋯ INPLASY202040118.

The effect of age distribution on the prognosis of retroperitoneal neuroblastoma.
Retroperitoneal neuroblastoma is a rare subtype of neuroblastoma and the role of age in its clinical prognosis is still unknown. To describe the age distribution and investigate the association between age and survival outcomes in patients diagnosed with retroperitoneal neuroblastoma. We retrospectively analyzed patients registered for retroperitoneal neuroblastoma in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) national database from 1973 to 2015. ⋯ Adjusted multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that ages ≥ 3 years were associated with a significant increased risks of disease-specific death and total death (OR = 2.5, 95% CI 1.7-3.8; OR = 2.3, 95% CI 1.6-3.3, respectively). There was a unimodal age distribution of retroperitoneal neuroblastoma usually presented in infants or younger child. Older age was associated with a lower chance of overall survival and the risk of disease-specific death increased sharply after 3 years of age.

Tirofiban is widely used in patients with acute ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This drug can efficiently improve myocardial perfusion and cardiac function, but its dose still remains controversial. We here investigated the effects of different dose of tirofiban on myocardial reperfusion and heart function in patients with STEMI. ⋯ The tirofiban can effectively alleviate the myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury and promote the recovery of cardiac function in STEMI patients underwent PCI. Although the high-dose can enhance the clinical effects, it also increased the hemorrhagic risk. Therefore, the rational dosage application of tirofiban become much indispensable in view of patient's conditions and hemorrhagic risk, and a medium dose of 10 μg/kg may be appropriate for patients without high hemorrhagic risk.
