We conducted a study to evaluate the prognostic and diagnostic values of microRNA-10b (miR-10b) in gastric cancer (GC) based on meta-analysis and TCGA database. Relevant studies were searched in English and Chinese database and meta-analysis was conducted on Stata 12.0. The expression value of miR-10b and clinical parameters of GC patients were downloaded from TCGA database, and relevant analyses were conducted on SPSS. ⋯ Meanwhile, the area under the ROC curve (AUC) value was 0.652 (0.562-0.742), P = .001. Disease-free survival analysis showed increasing miR-10b-5p was correlated with worse survival outcome (HR = 2.366, 95% CI: 1.414-3.959, P = .001). In conclusion, miR-10b acts as a tumor suppressor with prognostic and diagnostic values for GC.

To compare the clinical outcomes of perpendicular and parallel plating for the treatment of distal humerus fractures. ⋯ Both parallel plating and orthogonal plating are considered to be effective methods when treating distal humerus fractures. The results of this study found that parallel plating is superior to orthogonal plating in humerus fracture healing.

Up-to-date comparison of robotic-assisted versus open distal pancreatectomy: A PRISMA-compliant meta-analysis.
Although robot-assisted distal pancreatectomy (RADP) has been successfully performed since 2003, its advantages over open distal pancreatectomy (ODP) are still uncertain. The objective of this meta-analysis is to compare the clinical and oncologic safety and efficacy of RADP vs ODP. ⋯ With regard to perioperative outcomes, RADP is a safe and feasible alternative to ODP in centers with expertise in robotic surgery. However, the evidence is limited and more randomized controlled trials are needed to further clearly define this role.

Pretreatment C-reactive protein/albumin ratio for predicting overall survival in pancreatic cancer: A meta-analysis.
Inconsistent findings have been reported regarding the association of C-reactive protein to albumin ratio (CAR) with survival outcome in patients with pancreatic cancer. We conducted the current meta-analysis to assess the prognostic utility of elevated baseline CAR in predicting overall survival (OS) in pancreatic cancer patients. ⋯ Elevated pretreatment CAR may independently predict poor OS in pancreatic cancer patients. Pretreatment CAR is possibly a simple and cost-effective blood-derived indicator for predicting survival outcome in patients with pancreatic cancer.

Prognostic and clinical implications of c-erbB-2 expression in patients with oral cancer: A meta-analysis.
Recently, many studies have suggested that the aberrant expression of c-erbB-2 existed in oral cancer (OC) patients and had a correlation with poor clinical features across OC patients. Considering the inconsistent results among published articles, we performed the meta-analysis to assess the prognostic and clinical effect of c-erbB-2 expression on oral tumors. ⋯ c-erbB-2 may be a potential indicator in the prediction of prognosis and clinicopathological features in OC patients.
