Review Case Reports
Primary signet ring cell carcinoma with tubular adenoma of the rectum: A case report and a review of the literature.
Among the various forms of colorectal carcinomas, primary signet ring cell carcinoma (SRCC) of rectum is infrequent. Primary SRCC with adenoma is even rarer. Due to its low morbidity and lack of obvious manifestations at early stages, it is difficult to make an early diagnosis and perform surgical intervention in time. Herein, we reported a case of primary SRCC with tubular adenoma of rectum and also performed a review of the literature of such cases, in hopes of expanding the general understanding regarding such cases. ⋯ Primary rectal SRCC has a rather low morbidity. Furthermore, a rectal SRCC with adenoma which was presenting in this case is even more rare. Besides lack of clinical characters, delay of diagnosis and treatment frequently occur. So far, a surgical procedure has still been one of the most effective treatments. Considering of metastasis and the poor prognosis, early diagnosis, in-time radical resection, and a comprehensive followed treatment are recommended for a higher 5-year overall survival.

The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to assess the efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with stage IIB/C CRC and defective mismatch repair (dMMr) status, and to evaluate what is the determinant risk factor for adjuvant chemotherapy in those patients. ⋯ This protocol has been registered on the International Platform of Registered Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (INPLASY) with a registration number of INPLASY202050019.

Exercise-induced fatigue (EF) has been a major area of interest within the field of sports and clinical medicine. Implemented on people's skin, muscles, and joints as an important part of complementary and alternative medicine , massage therapy has a positive effect on the recovery of EF and sports injuries. In this systematic review, we aim to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of massage therapy for patients with EF. ⋯ The results of this review will be disseminated through peer-reviewed publication. Because all of the data used in this systematic review and meta-analysis has been published, this review does not require ethical approval. Furthermore, all data will be analyzed anonymously during the review process.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic and disabling psychiatric disorder. The treatment of BD still remains a significant clinical challenge due to the complex nature of the disease. Nutraceutical therapy as adjunctive role is a promising therapy for BD. Sulforaphane (SFN), a broccoli extract, was reported to be effective for emotional problems and cognitive impairment. However, clinical research of SFN in the treatment of BD was rare. Therefore, this study is designed to evaluate the adjuvant role of SFN in the treatment of BD. ⋯ This trial will provide evidences to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SFN combined with quetiapine in the treatment of BD patients, as well as the adjuvant role of SFN in combination.

The operation of lung cancer may squeeze the tumor and further promote the spread of tumor cells to the circulation, which may be one of the reasons for the metastasis and recurrence of lung cancer. The potential risk of tumor cell dissemination can theoretically be minimized if the effluent veins were ligated first (via the vein-first [V-first] technique), instead of having the artery ligated first (via the artery-first [A-first] technique). However, this technical concept has not yet been widely accepted as a standard of surgical oncology in current guidelines owing to a lack of sufficient evidence. This systematic review and meta-analysis will be performed to determine which technique during lobectomy will achieve longer patient survival and be more beneficial for patients. ⋯ As far as we know, this study will be the first meta-analysis to compare the efficacy of the vein-first and artery-first surgical technique of lobectomy for patients diagnosed with resectable non-small cell lung cancer. Due to the nature of the disease and intervention methods, randomized controlled trials may be inadequate, and we will carefully consider inclusion in high-quality, non-randomized controlled trials, but this may result in high heterogeneity and affect the reliability of the results.
