Primary sarcomatoid hepatocellular carcinoma (SHC) is a rare subtype of morphologic hepatocellular carcinoma reported on less than 1% of surgical pathology specimens. Herein, we report a rare case of SHC. The case in question was initially misdiagnosed as a liver abscess due to the clinical and radiological similarity between these 2 pathologies. Ultrasound(US)- and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS)- guided biopsies are helpful in making an accurate diagnosis under the appropriate biopsy area and angle of puncture. ⋯ A hepatic abscess should be considered as a malignant lesion when clinical symptoms do not resolve upon standard treatment. US- and CEUS- guided biopsies are helpful in making an accurate diagnosis under the appropriate biopsy area and angle of puncture.

There is still a lack of case reports about tactile vibration feedback devices for the treatment of transtibial amputees so far. This case report aims to introduce a tactile vibration feedback device designed to improve the balance and walking function of the transtibial amputee. ⋯ The tactile vibration feedback device has the potential to improve the balance and walking function of the transtibial amputee after installation. Potential fields that can be recommended for future research include intelligent prosthetics, feedback training, motor function, prosthetic acceptance, compliance, social communication, and the quality of life.

Association between the use of antibiotics and efficacy of gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel in advanced pancreatic cancer.
It is unclear whether the use of antibiotics is related to the efficacy of gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel (GnP). Therefore, we investigated the association between the use of antibiotics and efficacy of GnP. We conducted a retrospective single center study from January 2014 to December 2018 in Hokkaido University Hospital. ⋯ The median progression-free survival was 5.8 and 2.7 months (hazards ratio [HR] .602, 95% confidence interval [CI] .391-.928, P = .022) and the median overall survival was 11.0 and 8.4 months (HR .768, 95% CI .491-1.202, P = .248) in the U and not use antibiotics groups, respectively. Antibiotic use (HR .489, 95% CI .287-.832, P = .008) and locally advanced pancreatic cancer (HR 1.808, 95% CI 1.051-3.112, P = .032) were independent prognostic factors for progression-free survival. Antibiotic use was associated with a higher efficacy of GnP, and therefore, it may be employed as a novel treatment strategy.

A gene missense mutation in diffuse pulmonary lymphangiomatosis with thrombocytopenia: A case report.
Diffuse pulmonary lymphangiomatosis (DPL) is a rare condition. Most patients with DPL present dyspnea, cough, expectoration, and hemoptysis. There are few reports of DPL accompanied by thrombocytopenia, whose cause remains unknown. ⋯ DPL may present with thrombocytopenia and DIC. Patients with thrombocytopenia but not DIC and splenomegaly should be screened for gene mutations.

The therapeutic strategies of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) tend to be comprehensive. Improving the major symptoms and quality of life (QoL) is as important as postponing the process of fibrosis. However, only pirfenidone and nintedanib conditionally recommended by guidelines and no definite proof indicate that they can significantly ameliorate the main symptoms and QoL of IPF sufferers. At present, multiple types of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) interventions alone or in combination with conventional western medicine managements are widespreadly applied in IPF treatment, which seemingly have a promising clinical effect, especially in ameliorating the main symptoms and improving QoL. Subsequently, the number of relevant studies in systematic reviews(SRs) and meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials(RCTs) increased significantly. Hence, we plan to implement an overview to collect, evaluate, and summarize the results of these SRs. ⋯ INPLASY 202080110.
