Meta Analysis
Acupotomy for patients with tarsal tunnel syndrome: A protocol for systematic review and meta analysis.
Tarsal tunnel syndrome (TTS) is a painful condition of the ankle that affects patients' quality of life and ability to work. Multiple clinical studies of nerve decompression by acupotomy have been published in China, and the results are encouraging. However, the efficacy and security of this treatment have not been evaluated scientifically and systematically. The purpose of this systematic review protocol is to evaluate the efficacy and security of acupotomy treatment in patients with TTS, which will be helpful to clinical acupotomy doctors. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF. Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) is one of the most common diseases in urology, which 50% of men are infected at some point in their lives. Type III CP/CPPS is the most complex and controversial of all types of prostatitis, the highest incidence rate, uncertain efficacy, the long-term treatment that affects the patient's psychopathic symptoms, increases the psychological burden of patients. Psychological intervention for patients with CP/CPPS, which is difficult to treat with drugs and physics, can effectively improve clinical efficacy and improve the psychological condition. The researchers found a high prevalence of psychosocial problems and catastrophic distress in CP/CPPS patients, such as serious mental disorders, especially depression, anxiety and stress, and the high incidence of pain-devastating illness. In this study, we will evaluate psychological interventions as an effective way to relieve chronic prostatitis. ⋯ INPLASY202080021.

The mean age of the German population increased over the last years, which resulted in a higher prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, cognitive impairment, sarcopenia and bone fractures. Current evidence indicates a preservation of human wellbeing in the elderly by a healthy diet, although the recommended macronutrient composition and quality remains unclear and needs further long-term investigation. In this context we investigate the effect of a specific dietary pattern on age-related disorders in a randomized controlled multi-center trial (RCT). ⋯ The findings of this trial will provide clinically relevant information regarding dietary effects on age-related impairment of health and will contribute to the definition of the optimal macronutrient composition in the context of healthy aging in the German population.

Randomized Controlled Trial
The acute and chronic effects of high-intensity exercise in hypoxia on blood pressure and post-exercise hypotension: A randomized cross-over trial.
Acute exercise leads to an immediate drop in blood pressure (BP), also called post-exercise hypotension (PEH). Exercise in hypoxia is related to additional vasodilation, potentially contributing to more profound PEH. Therefore, we investigated the impact of hypoxia versus normoxia on the magnitude of PEH. Second, we examined whether these changes in PEH relate to the BP-lowering effects of 12-week exercise training under hypoxia. ⋯ Our findings show that hypoxia does not alter the magnitude of PEH in healthy individuals, whilst PEH relates to the BP-lowering effects of exercise. These data highlight the strong link between acute and chronic changes in BP.

Functional constipation refers to constipation without organic lesions caused by dietary factors, mood depression, changes in life rules, and poor bowel habits. Clinically, constipation is mainly manifested by changes of stool texture, difficulty or lack of bowel movement, and dry stool. Sometimes, it can be accompanied by abdominal distension and abdominal discomfort. Chinese herbal compound is a prescription which is composed of 2 or more medicinal flavors and is designed for relatively certain diseases and syndromes. Clinical studies have shown that TCM compounds have a good therapeutic effect on functional constipation, but there is no evidence of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of TCM compounds in the treatment of functional constipation, and to provide evidence-based basis for the clinical application of TCM compounds in the treatment of constipation. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/D5ECF.
