Review Case Reports
Mid-clavicle fracture with dislocation of the ipsilateral acromioclavicular joint treated with Endobutton system: A case report and review of the literature.
Acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation combined with ipsilateral midclavicular fracture is extremely unusual and is a high-energy injury to the shoulder. A review of the literature divides the treatment of clavicular fractures is divided into nonsurgical treatment, plates, and intramedullary nailing, while the options for ACJ dislocation are elastic fixation and rigid fixation. However, there is still a lack of consensus about the most appropriate way to treat this shoulder injury. This case report involves a mid-clavicle fracture with dislocation of the ipsilateral ACJ, which was classified as type V according to Rockwood classification. ⋯ Mid-clavicular fracture with a high-energy injury is highly suspicious and requires perfect shoulder CT or bilateral shoulder stress position DR to confirm whether there is a combined ACJ dislocation.

Geriatric hip fracture patients often present malnutrition during admission, which leads to higher morbidity and mortality. Protein-based oral nutrition supplements may improve nutritional status. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) according to the PRISMA guidelines to elucidate whether preoperative nutrition supplements can improve postoperative outcomes in geriatric hip fracture patients. ⋯ Preoperative protein-based oral nutrition supplements exert beneficial, but limited, effects on postoperative outcomes in geriatric patients with hip fracture undergoing surgery.

Meta Analysis
The influence of pretreatment with PPI on Helicobacter pylori eradication: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
In this meta-analysis, we aimed to comprehensively investigate the impact of pretreatment with proton pump inhibitor (PPI) on Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication and provide novel inspiration to clinical practice. ⋯ PPI pretreatment did not affect the H. pylori eradication rates, regardless of the various types of bacteriostatic antibiotic, except the therapy regimen of PPI and clarithromycin and metronidazole.

The diagnostic value of interleukin 6 as a biomarker for gastric cancer: A meta-analysis and systematic review.
Gastric cancer is one of the most common cancers and a main cause of global cancer death. The expression of interleukin 6 is associated with the risk of gastric cancer. But the diagnostic accuracy of interleukin 6 remains unclear. This study was designed to assess the diagnostic performance of interleukin 6 in gastric cancer diagnosis. ⋯ Higher interleukin 6 expression was detected in GC patients, and interleukin 6 could be a helpful indicator of diagnosis of gastric cancer. Further large-scale prospective studies are required for identifying the diagnostic value of interleukin 6 in gastric cancer.

There is a heated debate on the clinicopathological features and prognostic significance with non-metastasis 23 (NM23) expression in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Thus, we conducted this meta-analysis to evaluate the clinicopathological features and prognostic significance of NM23 for NSCLC patients. ⋯ The reduced NM23 expression is strongly associated with higher risk of NSCLC, higher TNM staging, poorer differentiation degree, positive lymph node metastasis, lung adenocarcinoma, and poorer 5-year OS rate in NSCLC patients, which indicated that NM23 could serve as a biomarker predicating the clinicopathological and prognostic significance of NSCLC.
