Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most common childhood-onset neurodevelopmental disorder, and methylphenidate (MPH) is considered one of the first-line medicine for ADHD. Unfortunately, this medication is only effective for some children with ADHD. This meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate whether noradrenergic gene polymorphisms impact the efficacy of MPH in children with ADHD. ⋯ Our meta-analysis results indicate that the noradrenergic gene polymorphisms may impact MPH response. The NET rs28386840 is linked to improved MPH response in ADHD children. And the ADRA2A MspI is associated with inattention symptom improvements. Further investigations with larger samples will be needed to confirm these results.Registration: PROSPERO (no. CRD42021265830).

Review Case Reports
Parosteal lipoma of the forearm: A case report and a literature review.
Parosteal lipomas are rare neoplasms comprising mature adipocytes situated in a proximity to bone. Although these tumors follow a benign course, the reactive osseous changes that may occur with such lesions might raise the suspicion of malignancy. ⋯ Distinction of the features of parosteal lipomas is needed to establish the accurate diagnosis, discriminate it from malignant lesions, predict potential neurovascular compromises, and follow up until a curative action is planned.

The highly contagious Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) infection raise social and economic burden. Medical staff and resources are being diverted for the care of patients with COVID-19. There are problems for healthcare systems, including burnout syndrome for the medical staff and exhaustion of medical resources. ⋯ As a result of using mobile chest CT on COVID-19 patients, the number of medical personnel required for CT scanning decreased by about 83%, rapid, and safe compared with a patient who performed conventional CT.

The aim of this study is to examine the outcome of septic patients with cirrhosis admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and predictors of mortality. Single center, retrospective cohort study. The study was conducted in Intensive care Department of King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. ⋯ Among cirrhosis patients, elevated international normalization ratio (INR) (OR 1.69; 95% CI 1.29-2.23), hemodialysis (OR 3.09; 95% CI 1.76-5.42) and mechanical ventilation (OR 2.61; 95% CI 1.60-4.28) were the independent predictors of mortality. Septic cirrhosis patients admitted to the intensive care unit have greater odds of dying during their hospital stay. Among septic cirrhosis patients, elevated INR and the need for hemodialysis and mechanical ventilation were associated with increased mortality.

Prognostic markers compared to CD3+TIL in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LA-NPC) is more prevalent in some geographic regions, including Saudi Arabia. Typically, Tumor-Node-Metastasis (TNM) staging is used in NPC. However, it is inadequate to assess the prognosis of LA-NPC. ⋯ Similarly, in a validated multivariate cox regression analysis, only low CD3+ TIL correlated significantly with DFS (HR = 7.0, P < .001 for TIL) and OS (HR = 9.4, P = .040). Among tested parameters, CD3+ TIL was the only independent prognostic marker for DFS and OS in LA-NPC patients treated with CCRT. This study supports the use of CD3+TIL, over other factors, as an independent prognostic factor in LA-NPC.
