Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Acupuncture for amnestic mild cognitive impairment: A pilot multicenter, randomized, parallel controlled trial.
Patients with amnesic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) are more likely to develop Alzheimer disease than corresponding age normal population. Because Alzheimer disease is irreversible, early intervention for aMCI patients seems important and urgent. We have designed a pilot multicenter, randomized, parallel controlled trial to assess the efficacy and safety of acupuncture on aMCI, explore the feasibility of acupuncture in the treatment of aMCI, so as to provide a reference for large-sample clinical trials in the next stage. ⋯ This pilot trial aims to explore the feasibility of the trial, verify essential information of its efficacy and safety. This pilot study will provide a preliminary basis for carrying out a larger clinical trial of acupuncture on aMCI in near future.

Reported studies have shown that expression levels of microRNAs (miRNAs) are related to survival time of patients with heart failure (HF). A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to study circulating miRNAs expression and patient outcome. ⋯ Four relevant articles assessing 19 circulating miRNAs in 867 patients were included. In conclusion, the meta-analysis results suggest that HF patients with low expression of serum miR-1, miR-423-5p, miR-126, miR-21, miR-23, miR-30d, miR-18a-5p, miR-16-5p, miR-18b-5p, miR-27a-3p, miR-26b-5p, miR-30e-5p, miR-106a-5p, miR-233-3P, miR-301a-3p, miR-423-3P, and miR-128 have significantly worse overall survival (P < .05). Among them, miR-18a-5p, miR-18b-5p, miR-30d, miR-30e-5p, and miR-423-5p are strong biomarkers of prognosis in HF.

The effect and safety of ropinirole in the treatment of Parkinson disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
It is necessary to conduct a meta-analysis of the clinical randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on ropinirole in the treatment of Parkinson disease (PD), to explore the effects and safety of ropinirole, and to provide a theoretical basis for clinically safe and rational drug use. ⋯ Ropinirole can help improve the ability of daily living and exercise function of PD patients, but it will increase the incidence of related adverse reactions, which needs to be further confirmed by subsequent large-scale, high-quality RCTs.

Efficacy of sequential N-butylphthalide therapy on psychiatric and behavioral functions in acute ischemic stroke.
Stroke can cause physical and mental problems. This study examined how the sequential therapy of N-butylphthalide (NBP) could effectively improve physical movement, life activities, and psychological disorders in stroke patients. ⋯ Our results indicated that 90 days' sequential therapy with NBP as an additional therapy in the treatment of ischemic stroke can better improve patients' psychological and behavioral functions without significant side effects.

Diagnostic value of microRNA-155 in active tuberculosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a preventable and treatable disease, but the increased mortality and morbidity associated with TB continues to be a leading cause of death globally. MicroRNA (miRNA)-155 has been recognized as a marker of many lung diseases. However, the effectiveness of this marker for diagnosing TB remains unclear. ⋯ The results of the meta-analysis suggested that miRNA-155 could serve as an effective biomarker for identifying active TB.
