Oral carcinomas is a concerning condition around the world. Globally, it is the 11th most common form of cancer. Over 90% of oral carcinomas are squamous cell carcinomas. Smoking, tobacco intake, smokeless tobacco (snuff or chewing tobacco), excessive sunlight exposure, alcohol, betel nut consumption, human papillomavirus, and reverse end smoking are the most common causes of oral carcinomas. Oral carcinomas are prone to neck lymph mode metastasis, which has an impact on the prognosis of patients and the five-year survival rate. Thus, precise lymph node metastasis and staging of oral carcinomas are critical. With the development of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, an increasing number of studies have found that Contrast-Enhanced Computed Tomography (CECT) has high diagnostic value for tumors. ⋯ Oct 13, 2021.osf.io/k5nr9. Depression and quality of life in Brazilian and Portuguese older people communities: Analysis of association.
We aimed to compare the association of depression with aspects of quality of life (QoL) among older people users of primary health care (PHC) living in Brazil and Portugal. We carried out an observational, cross-sectional and comparative study with a quantitative approach in the PHC scope in Brazil and Portugal, where we obtained a nonrandom sample of 150 participants aged 65 years or older (100 Brazilians and 50 Portuguese). We used the socioeconomic and health data questionnaire, the Medical Outcomes Short-Form Health Survey QoL (SF-36) questionnaire and the Beck Inventory. ⋯ Aspects related to the emotional, physical, functional and mental health components stood out. The association and correlation with depression were more expressive in Portugal compared to Brazil. However, similar results were obtained in Brazil but with less relevance.

Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a chronic degenerative joint disease commonly occurring in middle-aged and elderly people. The main clinical manifestations are joint pain, limited activity, and decreased muscle strength resulting in decreased motor control ability. Exercise therapy is an effective method to enhance muscle strength of lower limbs, while China's traditional skill Tai Chi (TC) is a combination of activity and inertia, internal and external exercise therapy. In recent years, scholars at home and abroad have found that regular TC can effectively improve patients' lower limb function and balance ability. The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of TC on lower limb function and balance ability in patients with KOA. ⋯ This study will evaluate the effects of TC on lower limb function and balance ability of patients with KOA. The results of this trial will provide a clinical basis for the selection of exercise therapy for patients with KOA.
