The vulnerability of adolescents to emotional disorders such as stress, anxiety, anger, depression, and emotional breakdown is a matter of great concern and urgent need. Studies in several countries and regions have reported higher prevalence of depression, stress, and anxiety in adolescents. Several studies have shown that mindfulness-based interventions have an ameliorative effect on both emotional disorders and psychological problems in adolescents. The purpose of this study is to systematically analyze the effects of mindfulness-based intervention on emotional disorders and psychological problems in adolescents, and to provide a reasonable mindfulness-based intervention program for adolescents with emotional disorders. ⋯ The results of this study may provide a strong basis for improving emotional disorders and psychological problems in adolescents.Systematic review registration: INPLASY2021110054.

To detect the expression of interlerukin-22 (IL-22) and associated genes and to evaluate their relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). The expression of IL-22 and associated genes were evaluated by immunohistochemistry and real time polymerase chain reaction in LSCC tissues from 30 patients and adjacent non-tumor tissues. A statistical analysis was implemented to assess the relationship among levels of expression, clinicopathological factors, and overall survival. ⋯ Overall survival of LSCC was significantly poorer with higher expression of IL-22 and IL-22R1 than in those with lower expression. The present research indicated that the increased level of IL-22 and IL-22R1 may be related to the pathogenesis and prognosis of LSCC. IL-22 may be the important biomarker, which need further research.

Equations to estimate glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) are useful for monitoring tje renal status of benign hypertensive nephrosclerosis (BHN). This study aimed to compare the applicability of 6 equations (Cockcroft-Gault [CG] adjusted for body surface area, original modification of diet in renal disease [MDRD], American abbreviated MDRD, Chinese modified MDRD, Chinese abbreviated MDRD, and Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology [CKD-EPI]) to estimate GFR in a Chinese BHN population. A total of 179 patients diagnosed with BHN were enrolled. ⋯ The difference in performance between estimated GFR (eGFR) based on the American abbreviated MDRD equation and the rGFR was not statistically significant (P = .191), while differences in the others were statistically significant (P < .05). Furthermore, the advantages in deviation, absolute deviation, deviation degree, precision, and accuracy were also significantly different from those of the other equations. Our findings suggest that eGFR based on the American abbreviated MDRD equation is suitable for the Chinese BHN population.

Hospital-wide antigen screening for coronavirus disease in a tertiary reference center in Sapporo, Japan: A single-center observational study.
Hospital-wide screenings for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are important to identify healthcare workers at risk of exposure. However, the currently available diagnostic tests are expensive or only identify past infection. Therefore, this single-center observational study aimed to assess the positivity rate of hospital-wide antigen screening tests for COVID-19 and evaluate clinical factors associated with antigen positivity during a COVID-19 institutional outbreak in Sapporo, Japan. ⋯ The positivity rate was high among rehabilitation therapists (2.1%) and employees in the low-risk contact group (6.1%). Although there was no association between the job titles and the seropositivity rate, those in the low-risk contact group had an increased risk of testing positive for the viral antigen (odds ratio, 8.67; 95% confidence interval, 3.30-22.8). The antigen positivity rate was low during the hospital outbreak, suggesting that risk assessment of exposure to COVID-19 patients may provide more useful information than using job titles to identify infected health care providers.

Osteoarthritis (OA) remains one of the most common osteopathy for centuries, which can be attributed to multiple risk factors including mechanical and biochemical ones. More and more studies verified that inflammatory cytokines play important roles in the progression of OA, such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between epigenetic manifestations of TNF-? and the pathogenesis of OA. ⋯ In conclusion, the changes of epigenetic status regulate TNF-α expression in the cells, which are pivotal to the OA disease process. These results may give us a better understanding of OA and may provide new therapeutic options.
