This study aimed to quantify and evaluate the knowledge and awareness toward liver health and diseases as well as explore the attitudes and knowledge toward screening, diagnosis, and treatment of liver disease among the Thai population. This is a cross-sectional, self-reported and web-based questionnaire study. Awareness, perceptions and attitudes toward liver-related health and diseases as well as screening, diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases were assessed among 500 Thai adults. ⋯ Multivariate analysis identified income, recent health screening status and being diagnosed with liver disease(s) as significant predictors of the knowledge, attitude, and behaviors of the Thai population toward liver diseases. This study highlighted a degree of misperception and lack of in-depth understanding toward hepatitis-related liver diseases including poor attitudes and knowledge toward screening, diagnosis, and treatment of liver diseases. Factors identified suggest an unmet need to encourage proactive health-seeking behaviors to reduce transmission risks of hepatitis-related liver diseases within the community.

: Heart failure (HF) is a global pandemic most commonly caused by coronary artery disease. Despite coronary revascularization, the infarcted myocardium can develop into an irreversible scar toward chronic ischemic HF. This is due to the limited regenerative capacity of the adult human heart. Recently, the vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 positive cardiac fibroblast (VCF) has been shown to directly improve cardiac contractility in addition to promoting myocardial growth in preclinical studies. This clinical trial aims to explore the safety and, in part, the efficacy of autologous VCF therapy for chronic ischemic HF. ⋯ This is the first clinical study of cardiac regeneration using VCFs for the treatment of chronic ischemic HF. The study results will contribute to the development of a minimally invasive cell therapy for patients with HF failed by the standard of care.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangement is the second most common targetable oncogene-dirven gene in nonsmall cell lung cancer. Owing to the advanced sequencing technologies, new partner genes of ALK have been constantly detected. ⋯ Together, we identified a rare triple ALK fusion variant, ALK-LRRN2, LTBP1-ALK and HIP1-ALK, in a patient with lung adenocarcinoma. The patient benefited from alectinib treatment, which could provide a certain reference for the patients with such gene alteration.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hematological disorder characterized by sickling of red blood cells. Patients are at increased risk of venous thromboembolism. There are no guidelines for the management of venous thromboembolism in sickle cell disease specifically in terms of the anticoagulant of choice. ⋯ We concluded that rivaroxaban is effective in treating PE in sicklers and also it is safe.

Novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a kind of pulmonary inflammation induced by New Coronavirus. It seriously threatens people's health and safety. Clinical studies have found that some patients have different degrees of inflammation after discharge from hospital, especially in patients with severe inflammatory lung fibrosis. Early combination of Chinese medicine and modern medicine has important clinical significance. There are still many deficiencies in the current research. We studied the effectiveness of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis caused by COVID-19, and proposed a network meta-analysis (NMA) scheme. ⋯ INPLASY2021110061.
