Central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) is one of the most common retinal vascular diseases, which is closely related to systemic diseases like hypertension, diabetes and arteriosclerosis. Due of its blinding, it will seriously reduce the quality of life. Macular edema (ME) caused by CRVO is one of the serious complications of visual impairment. We found that the severity of ME in CRVO was positively associated with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the anterior chamber. With the accelerated pace of modern life and the changed dietary structure, the incidence of this disease will continue to rise. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to seek effective treatment methods. Intraocular injection of anti-VEGF can effectively alleviate ME and improve visual acuity, showing excellent clinical application prospects. In recent years, there have been some new understandings and advances on the etiology and treatment methods of the present disease, such as the deepening into the molecular biology and gene level. Clinical studies on the efficacy of the disease have emerging. Therefore, a network meta-analysis (NMA) of anti-VEGF treatment for CRVO is particularly necessary to systematically compare its efficacy. ⋯ INPLASY2021110073.

Data are conflicting on whether proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) diminish the efficacy of clopidogrel. We investigated individual PPIs and adverse cardiovascular events in postpercutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) patients on dual antiplatelet therapy with clopidogrel. ⋯ The post-PCI patients on dual antiplatelet therapy with clopidogrel in the PPI group were associated with higher risk of MACE and MI. Although the results for rabeprazole were not robust, it was the only PPI that did not yield a significantly increased risk of MACE.

Development and validation of the Chinese surgical inpatient satisfaction and comfort questionnaire.
Patient feedback can provide insights to assess and improve the quality of healthcare. This study aimed to develop a measure of surgical inpatient satisfaction and comfort and examine its acceptability, validity, and reliability among discharged surgical patients. This multicenter, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted at three tertiary hospitals in Shaanxi Province, China. ⋯ A distinguishing feature of this questionnaire is the inclusion of a subscale that assesses comfort as a dimension of patient satisfaction. Such instruments can be used to identify the factors that should be addressed to improve the quality of patient care. Further research is needed to determine the role of assessment in quality improvement.

Anterior pelvic ring contributes up to 40% of the stability of the pelvic ring and is located in close proximity to key pelvic organs, blood vessels, and nerves. An anterior pelvic ring fracture causes severe pain and is a potentially life-threatening condition in trauma patients. Currently available surgical repair methods are highly technical and include high risks of complications. The minimally invasive ilioinguinal approach (MIIA) is an emerging technique that reduces the risk of femoral nerve and external iliac vessel injury. However, the safety and efficacy of this technique have yet to be systematically scrutinized. Long-term efficacy and patient satisfaction of pulsed radiofrequency therapy in temporomandibular disorders: A randomized controlled trial.
Pulse radiofrequency (PRF) therapy is one of effective physical therapy modalities for treat temporomandibular disorders (TMD). This prospective randomized controlled trial aimed to evaluate the long-term treatment efficacy and patient satisfaction with PRF therapy in TMD. ⋯ Long-term regular pulsed radiofrequency therapy was effective in significantly reducing TMD pain, and the effect was long-lasting following treatment completion. Pulsed radiofrequency therapy should be considered as a supportive physical therapy modality for TMD.
