Review Case Reports
Spinocerebellar ataxia type 28 in a Chinese pedigree: A case report and literature review.
Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) is a common neurogenetic disease that mainly manifests as ataxia of posture, gait, and limbs, cerebellar dysarthria, and cerebellar and supranuclear eye movement disorders. SCA has been found to include many subtypes, which are mainly mapped to 2 genetic patterns: autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxia and autosomal recessive cerebellar ataxia. Molecular genetic diagnosis functions as a necessity in its clinical diagnosis and treatment. In preliminary clinical work, we identified a family of SCA28 with rare gene mutation. ⋯ Molecular genetic diagnosis is necessary for ataxia. We here report the case and review the literature.

Multicenter Study
Sex-related differences in mortality, acute kidney injury, and respiratory failure among critically ill patients with COVID-19.
Although the number of deaths due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is higher in men than women, prior studies have provided limited sex-stratified clinical data. We evaluated sex-related differences in clinical outcomes among critically ill adults with COVID-19. Multicenter cohort study of adults with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 admitted to intensive care units at 67 U. ⋯ Severe AKI occurred in 590 men (21.8%), and 239 women (15.5%), while respiratory failure occurred in 2255 men (80.7%) and 1234 women (76.5%). After adjusting for age, race/ethnicity and clinical variables, compared with women, men had a higher risk of death (OR, 1.50, 95% CI, 1.26-1.77), severe AKI (OR, 1.92; 95% CI 1.57-2.36), and respiratory failure (OR, 1.42; 95% CI, 1.11-1.80). In this multicenter cohort of critically ill adults with COVID-19, men were more likely to have adverse outcomes compared with women.

Acupuncture may be a clinically effective treatment for insomnia. We will perform a multicenter, large-scale, single-blinded, randomized controlled trial to compare the differences in the clinical efficacy between the use of singleacupoints and compatibilityacupoints in the treatment of primary insomnia. ⋯ This trial will be helpful in identifying whether acupuncture at compatibility acupoints is more effective than acupuncture at single acupoints.

Artificial intelligence system is a deep learning system based on computer-assisted ultrasonic image diagnosis, which can extract morphological features of breast mass and conduct objective and efficient image analysis, thus automatically intelligent classification of breast mass, avoiding subjective error and improving the accuracy of diagnosis.[1-2] A large number of studies have confirmed that artificial intelligence (AI) has high effectiveness and reliability in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast diseases.[3-4] However, the results of these studies have been contradictory. Therefore, this meta-analysis tested the hypothesis that artificial intelligence system is accurate in distinguishing benign and malignant breast diseases. ⋯ INPLASY2021110087.

Systematic evaluation of the efficacy and safety of unilateral biportal endoscopic decompression in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis. ⋯ The operation time of UBE was shorter than that of MD, and it was superior to micro decompression in early back VAS score, lower limb VAS score and early postoperative CRP level. There was no statistical difference between UBE and MD in other outcomes.
