Exploring candidate markers to predict the clinical outcomes of pulmonary infection in stroke patients have a high unmet need. This study aimed to develop machine learning (ML)-based predictive models for pulmonary infection. Between January 2008 and April 2021, a retrospective analysis of 1397 stroke patients who had CT angiography from skull to diaphragm (including CT of the chest) within 24 hours of symptom onset. ⋯ When the ML-based models were applied to the validation set, the results also remained reconcilable, and the AUC was between 0.891 and 0.804. The decision curve analysis also showed performed better than positive line and negative line, indicating the favorable predictive performance and clinical values of the models. By incorporating clinical characteristics and systemic inflammation markers, it is feasible to develop ML-based models for the presence and consequences of signs of pulmonary infection in stroke patients, and the use of the model may be greatly beneficial to clinicians in risk stratification and management decisions.

Case Reports
Renal allograft-related inflammation complicated by acute coronary syndromes: A case report.
Persistent systemic inflammation is considered to be predictive for future cardiovascular events. Here, in a patient with pyelonephritis of his failed renal allograft, consecutive coronary angiograms proved that coronary artery disease progressed within 3 weeks, when infection was uncontrolled. ⋯ Surges of systemic inflammation due to infection were paralleled by instability of coronary plaques as documented by repeat coronary angiograms.

Case Reports
Lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma in the central nervous system: An unusual case report.
Lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma (LPRM) is a rare meningioma characterized by significant infiltration of plasma cells and lymphocytes, and changes in the ratio of meningeal epithelial components. According to the World Health Organization, tumors of the central nervous system are classified as grade I tumors. ⋯ LPRM is a rare variant of meningioma, and it is more unusual that the lesions involve the intracranial dura mater and the entire cervical spinal meninges. So far, surgical resection has been the main treatment for LPRM, but according to its own characteristics of lymphoplasmacyte-rich, immunotherapy may become a new treatment option.

To investigate the mental health status of obstetric nurses and its influencing factors during the novel coronavirus epidemic period, so as to provide theoretical reference for hospital decision-makers and managers. From February 25 to March 20, 2020, we conducted a cross-sectional survey through online questionnaire, and selected obstetric nurses from Jilin and Heilongjiang Provinces as the research objects by convenience sampling. Three hundred eighteen valid questionnaires were collected; the results of Symptom Checklist 90 showed that the scores of "obsessive-compulsive", "depression", "anxiety", "hostility", "phobia", and "psychosis" were higher than the Chinese norm (P < .01). ⋯ There is a great psychological burden for obstetric nurses during the epidemic period. Decision makers should focus on necessary psychological intervention for those that are married, temporarily employed, and those lacking family supports including communication. At the same time, managers should distribute tasks reasonably to avoid psychological burdens caused by overwork.

To assess the relationship between retinal vein occlusion (RVO) and the incidence of cardiovascular (CV) events. This was a single-institution, retrospective cohort study. We enrolled 57 patients diagnosed with RVO between January 2012 and December 2019, and 125 non-RVO patients who had undergone cataract surgery by a single surgeon between January and April 2012. ⋯ Multivariate analysis revealed that the RVO group had a high HR for CV events (HR: 16.13 [95% CI: 2.29-113.74]) and older age (HR: 1.26 [95% CI: 1.06-1.49]). RVO can predict future CV events, especially in the elderly population. Fundus observations should be shared between ophthalmologists and internists to prevent future CV events.
