Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is 1 of the common clinical diseases, and many treatment methods can only improve the symptoms of pain in the short term. Traditional Chinese sports - Baduanjin has been proven to have a positive effect on chronic low back pain. However, the quality of the research is low, the sample size is small, and safety observations are lacking. We describe the protocol of a randomized controlled trial to study the efficacy and safety of Baduanjin chronic low back pain. ⋯ This will be the first study to compare the effectiveness and safety of Baduanjin for patients with chronic low back pain. The results may help healthcare professionals make clinical decisions and may reduce the cost of treatment for this disease.

As a novel ultrasound technique, superb microvascular imaging (SMI) can quickly, simply, and noninvasively study the microvascular distribution in the tumor and evaluate the microvascular perfusion. Studies suggested that SMI is helpful for the differentiation between benign and malignant parotid tumors. However, the results of these studies have been contradictory. Therefore, the present meta-analysis aimed at determining the accuracy of SMI in the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant parotid tumors. ⋯ INPLASY2020100093.

The main aim of this study is to compare the use of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) via helmet versus face mask where different interfaces and masks can apply NIV. However, some of the limitations of the NIV face mask were air leak, face mask intolerance, and requirement of high positive end expiratory pressure, which could be resolved with the use of the helmet NIV. NIV facemask will be applied as per the facial contour of the patient. NIV helmet is a transparent hood and size will be measured as per the head size. Both groups will have a standard protocol for titration of NIV.Patients aged more than 18 years old and diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome as per Berlin definition will be enrolled in the study after signing the informed consent. Subjects who met the inclusion criteria will receive 1 of the 2 interventions; blood gases, oxygenation status [Po2/Fio2] will be monitored in both groups. The time of intubation will be the main comparison factor among the 2 groups. The primary and secondary outcomes will be measured by the number of patients requiring endotracheal intubation after application of helmet device, Improvement of oxygenation defined as PaO2/FiO2 ≥ 200 or increase from baseline by 100, duration of mechanical ventilation via an endotracheal tube, intensive care unit length of stay, death from any cause during hospitalization at the time of enrolment, need for proning during the hospital stay, intensive care unit mortality, and the degree to which overt adverse effects of a drug can be tolerated by a patient including feeding tolerance.

The improvement effect of exercise on diabetes mellitus has been widely recognized. Taijiquan, as a popular exercise mode for middle-aged and elderly people, is not clear about its effect on glucose and lipid metabolism in elderly diabetic patients. In this paper, the influence of Taijiquan on glucose and lipid metabolism in middle-aged and elderly diabetic patients was studied by using a meta-analysis method, to provide evidence for the clinical promotion of Taijiquan to improve glucose and lipid metabolism in diabetic patients. ⋯ INPLASY2020120107.

In patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, MYC combined with Bcl2 and/or Bcl6-based protein expression is called double expression lymphoma (DEL). R-DA-EPOCH program chemotherapy is typically recommended because these patients often have a poor prognosis. Although numerous factors affect survival of patients with DEL, the roles of the tumor biomarker histone methyltransferase G9a (G9a) and the lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) are unknown. ⋯ The multivariate analysis revealed that LMRs ≤2.18 and a G9a-positive result were independent prognostic factors for PFS and OS in patients with DEL treated with R-DA-EPOCH. The study results suggested that peripheral blood LMRs were an important marker for evaluation of prognosis in patients with DEL. High expression of G9a was associated with worse outcomes, indicating that G9a may serve as a prognostic biomarker for patients with DEL who undergo R-DA-EPOCH program chemotherapy.
