Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is a common reason for chronic liver disease in children and adults. The increasing incidence of the disease has become one of the most critical public health problems in the 21st century, closely related to genetic and environmental factors. So far, apart from changing lifestyle and diet, modern medicine still lacks effective treatment measures. Chinese patent medicine has the advantages of apparent curative effect, overall regulation and fewer side effects. However, there is a lack of research on the simultaneous comparison of various Chinese patent medicines. Therefore, we used a reticular meta-analysis to indirectly compare the efficacy and safety of different oral Chinese patent medicines through standard reference. ⋯ 2020120068.

Phaeochromocytomas are catecholamine-producing neuroendocrine tumors that may manifest in many ways, specifically as sustained or paroxysmal hypertension. Data, including data from mental status screening, were prospectively collected from suspected patients. ⋯ Results showed phaeochromocytoma patients were more likely to experience anxiety and depression. For future phaeochromocytoma treatment, early screening for anxiety and depression should be recommended.

Although many publications in diabetic retinopathy (DR) have been reported, there is no bibliometric analysis. ⋯ Based on data extracted from the WoSCC, this study provides a broad view of the current status and trends in DR research and may provide clinicians and researchers with insight into DR research and valuable information to identify potential collaborators and partner institutions and better predict their dynamic directions.

The potential impact from glenohumeral internal rotation deficit to the knee kinematics in baseball pitchers: A case-control study.
A recent study suggested that baseball pitchers with glenohumeral internal rotation deficit (GIRD) may tend to use trunk rotation as compensation to adjust ball placement, which may lead to subsequent counter movement at the knee of the leading leg. This study aims to investigate the kinematic characteristics of the counter movements between the femur and the tibia (knee torsion), from the landing of the leading leg until the follow-through phase, during throwing between pitchers with and without GIRD at the dominant arm. This is a case-control study. ⋯ The maximal angular movement between the femur and the tibia (knee torsion) of the leading leg was measured, using The Zebris 3D (Zebris Medizintechnik GmbH, Isny, Germany) motion analysis system, in the interval from the landing until the follow-through phase during pitching a fastball to the bottom-outside corner with their dominant arm. The results showed that the maximal knee torsion of the leading leg in the experimental group (13.67 ± 0.9 degrees) was significantly greater than the control group (4.25 ± 1.369 degrees) (P < .05). Pitchers with GIRD had greater counter movement in the knee joint than pitchers without GIRD.

Several previous trials have attempted to compare the efficacy of femoral nerve block (FNB) and local infiltrative analgesia (LIA) for patients received anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, but reached inconsistent conclusions. The primary purpose of this present research was to compare the FNB and LIA in the reconstruction of ACL. ⋯ It is assumed that the efficacy of LIA in the early postoperative pain is no less than that of FNB. For our study, the major limitation is the lack of randomization. Nevertheless, these data were prospectively harvested, with high response rate of patient.
