Road towards promoting patient safety practices among hospital pharmacists: Hospital-based baseline patient safety culture assessment cross-sectional survey.
Patient safety is a fundamental aspect of a healthcare system. The aim of this study was to assess the perception and determinants of the patient safety culture of pharmacists in hospitals, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A survey was conducted with pharmacists in the pharmacies of governmental, /military and private hospitals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. ⋯ The highest scores were achieved in teamwork, with the lowest scores in staffing, work pressure and pace. Overall, pharmacists in government hospital settings have a better perception of patient safety than their peers in other settings. These results provide the baseline evidence for developing future interventional studies aiming at improving patient safety culture in hospital pharmacy settings.

Microvascular angina has become a clinical and frequent cardiovascular disease in recent years, which is complicated and there is no clear treatment. Today, Western medicine still deals with microvascular angina with standardized treatment based on the stable angina. Firstly, it is to control the risk factors of atherosclerosis, and the second is to reduce the oxygen consumption of the patient's heart muscle. In the previous randomized controlled clinical trials, it has shown that nicorandil can improve the symptoms of angina for the treatment of microvascular angina, but there is a lack of high-quality randomized controlled trials on the clinical effectiveness and safety of nicorandil in the treatment of microvascular angina, and the lack of evaluation of its effectiveness and safety. Therefore, this paper aims to understand whether nicorandil can further improve the prognosis of patients with microvascular angina and the safety of the drug through the method of systematic evaluation. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/DSQG9.

Bone graft versus non-bone graft for treatment of calcaneal fractures: A protocol for meta-analysis.
Calcaneal fractures are a prevalent form of injury caused by high-energy trauma. This study aimed at investigating whether bone graft and non-bone graft are essential for the internal fixation of calcaneal fractures. A meta-analysis of relevant clinical studies evaluated radiographic parameters, functional outcomes, and complications that offer practical recommendations on the suitability of bone grafts for the management of Calcaneal fractures. ⋯ This study did not reveal any significant differences (P < .05) in both Böhler and Gissane angles, calcaneal height, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society hindfoot scores, Maryland foot evaluation, and rate of wound infection between the 2 groups. Due to the lack of a large sample of comparative studies, the use of bone grafting for the management of calcaneal fractures requires additional substantiation.

Postoperative acute kidney injury and early and long-term mortality in acute aortic dissection patients: A meta-analysis.
To evaluate the impact of postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI) on early and long-term mortality in patients with acute aortic dissection by conducting a meta-analysis. ⋯ This meta-analysis provided clinical evidence that postoperative stage 3 AKI is associated with higher risk of early and long-term mortality, even after adjusting important confounding factors. However, the current findings should be interpreted with caution due to the retrospective nature and limited number of studies analyzed.
