Randomized Controlled Trial
Efficacy and safety of qiming granule combined with laser in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy: A protocol of randomized controlled trial.
Diabetic retinopathy is not only the most common complication of diabetes, but also 1 of the main causes of blindness, which seriously affects the physical and mental health of patients. Panretinal photocoagulation is a common method for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, but it has some defects. Qiming granule has advantages in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, but there is a lack of standard clinical research to verify it. Therefore, the purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of qiming granule combined with laser in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy. ⋯ This study will evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of qiming granule combined with laser in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy. The experimental results of this study will provide a reliable reference basis for clinical use of qiming granule combined with laser in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy.

Dual anti-platelet therapy (DAPT) with aspirin and clopidogrel has been the mainstay of treatment for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). However, the recurrence of thrombotic events, potential aspirin and clopidogrel hypo-responsiveness, and other limitations of DAPT have led to the development of newer oral anti-thrombotic drugs. Apixaban, a new non-vitamin K antagonist, has been approved for use. In this meta-analysis, we aimed to compare the bleeding outcomes observed with the addition of apixaban to DAPT for the treatment of patients with ACS. ⋯ Addition of the novel oral anticoagulant apixaban to the DAPT regimen significantly increased bleeding and therefore did not show any beneficial effect in these patients with ACS. However, due to the extremely limited data, we apparently have to rely on future larger studies to confirm this hypothesis.

The relation between the expression of macrophage-colony stimulating factor-1 receptor (CSF-1R) and prognosis of cancer patients has been evaluated in multiple studies, but the results remain controversial. We, therefore, performed a meta-analysis and systematic review to figure out the role of CSF-1R in the prognosis of patients with cancer. ⋯ The overexpression of CSF-1R was significantly predictive of worse prognosis in those who suffer from different kinds of malignancies, particularly in hematological malignancy, which indicates that it might be a potential biomarker of prognosis in cancer survival and a potential molecular target in the treatment of malignant tumors.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a highly prevalent chronic liver disease characterized by excess accumulation of fat in hepatocytes. Because no drug has been approved for NAFLD treatment, this work analyzed the effects of agents resulting from 2 research hotspots, metabolic target agents, and natural plant drugs, on NAFLD with network meta-analysis. ⋯ Novel metabolic targeted agents generally have better effects than natural plant drugs, especially obeticholic acid, and elafibranor. However, obeticholic acid showed serious adverse effects such as increasing LDL-C levels and decreasing HDL-C levels. Curcumin showed potential advantages for NAFLD but lacked statistical significance.

Endoscopic removal is the main method for the treatment of colorectal polyps in children. Due to the small age of children, poor coordination, postoperative sensitive postoperative response, it is not good for postoperative recovery. Systematic nursing has an advantage in promoting the postoperative recovery of children with colorectal polyps of endoscopic removal, but it is lack of evidence-based basis. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of systematic nursing intervention on the rehabilitation of children after colorectal polyps of endoscopic removal. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/S57UX.
