Role of tocilizumab for concomitant systemic fungal infection in severe COVID-19 patient: Case report.
Bacterial and fungal infections in Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) patients have been inadequately investigated and reported thus far. The safety profile of tocilizumab (TCZ) administration in candidemia patient still debatable. ⋯ This case underscores the safety profile of giving TCZ in candidemia as a secondary infection in severe COVID-19 patient.

Myxofibrosarcoma (MFS) is a locally aggressive tumor and has the potential to be fatal because of distant metastasis. Immunotherapy targeting either programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) or programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) has recently shown a curative effect on multiple cancers including melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, and renal cell carcinoma. Although the immunotherapy has been applied in sarcoma, there is little information about the efficiency to treat metastatic MFS. ⋯ This case described here demonstrated that immunotherapy of PD-1 inhibitor is a promising treatment option for refractory MFS with PD-L1 positive or tumor mutational burden -high, which could contribute to effective tumor response.

Association of TNIP1 polymorphisms with hepatocellular carcinoma in a Northwest Chinese Han population.
Study has demonstrated that TNIP1 polymorphisms are associated with an increased risk of HBV-induced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between polymorphisms in TNIP1 and HCC risk in a Northwest Chinese Han population. A case-control study was conducted including 473 Hepatocellular carcinoma patients and 564 healthy controls. ⋯ Significant association was also shown between TNIP1 rs7708392 and HCC susceptibility in Additive model (OR = 1.25; 95% CI = 1.01-1.54; P = .040). Besides, we also found that the "GC" haplotype of rs7708392 and rs10036748 was significantly associated with higher occurrence of HCC (OR = 1.25, 95% CI: 1.01-1.54, P = .039). These results demonstrate that TNIP1 polymorphisms are associated with increased HCC risk in a Northwest Chinese Han population for the first time, which warrants further investigation in the future.

This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of osteotomy combined with lateral ligament reconstruction on the osteochondral lesion of patients with talar injuries and varus ankles. Seventy five patients with talar injuries and varus ankles who received osteotomy combined with lateral ligament reconstruction for the osteochondral lesions from June 2008 to December 2014 were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were followed up for 32.4 ± 15.3 months after surgeries, and the AOFAS-AH score, VAS score and SF36 score were determined preoperatively and postoperatively. ⋯ TAS increased from 83.3 ± 5.1 to 90.3 ± 6.1, TTS increased from 70.3 ± 6.1 to 82.5 ± 5.4, TT decreased from 12.9 ± 6.1 to 6.9 ± 5.7, and TLS increased from 76.5 ± 4.1 to 81.2 ± 3.3 (P < .05). Osteotomy combined with lateral ligament reconstruction is effective for the treatment of talar osteochondral lesion with varus ankle, which could relieve the arthritic symptoms induced by cartilage lesions. By correcting the force line on lower limbs and metapedes with osteotomy completely, the treatments on talar osteochondral lesion and lateral ligament reconstruction are the critical factors with better results.

A case report of reversible posterior encephalopathy syndrome with intracranial hemorrhage in a child.
The objective is to analyze the clinical diagnosis and treatment of children with rescindable posterior encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) and intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) to improve the pediatrician's understanding of PRES combined with ICH in children. ⋯ In general, children with PRES may further develop ICH and contribute to a poor prognosis. Early diagnosis, detection of risk factors and timely adjustment of medication regimen are the keys to prevent irreversible brain damage.
