IgG4-related pleural effusion with high adenosine deaminase levels: A case report and literature review.
Levels of pleural fluid adenosine deaminase (ADA), a useful marker for the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy, are elevated in some reports of immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related pleural effusion. We describe a patient with IgG4-related pleural effusion who exhibited a high concentration of ADA. Furthermore, we reviewed the literature to compare patients with IgG4-related pleural effusion and tuberculous pleurisy. ⋯ It is important to distinguish between IgG4-related pleural effusion and tuberculous pleurisy. Therefore, we compared 22 patients with IgG4-related pleural effusion from PubMed and the Japan Medical Abstracts Society to 40 patients with tuberculous pleurisy at Fukujuji Hospital from January 2017 to May 2019. According to thoracentesis findings, 14 of 18 patients with IgG4-related pleural effusion had high ADA more than 40 U/L. The pleural effusion of patients with IgG4-related pleural effusion showed higher TP levels (P < .001) and lower LDH (P < .001) and ADA levels (P = .002) than those with tuberculous pleurisy. Moreover, the pleural fluid ADA/TP ratio was a good predictor for differentiating IgG4-related pleural effusion and tuberculous pleurisy (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.909; 95% confidence level: 0.824-0.994).

As a common respiratory disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) develops progressively. Du moxibustion can effectively treat COPD, and no adverse reactions have been reported. This research mainly evaluated the efficacy and safety of Du moxibustion in the treatment of COPD. ⋯ INPLASY202110045.

Intraspinal clear cell meningioma without dural attachment: A case report and literature review.
Clear cell meningioma (CCM) is one of the rarest but most aggressive forms of meningioma, with a tendency to occur at a high recurrence rate. Intraspinal CCM, especially the nondura-based type, is even rarer than the intracranial CCM. ⋯ Nondura-based intraspinal CCM is easier to completely remove, and such complete removal should be achieved during the first operation. Although the recurrence rate of this particular type of meningioma appears to be lower than that of other types, close clinical and radiological follow-up is necessary.

Bronchial Asthma is a chronic, hyperreactive inflammation of the airway that involves a variety of inflammatory cells. Due to the persistence of airway hyperresponsiveness, lung function is progressively damaged, making asthma more stubborn and difficult to heal. In recent years, the prevalence of childhood asthma is still on an increasing trend. Repeated asthma attacks not only affect children's life and learning, but also bring greater economic and mental burden to children's families, and even threaten children's lives. Traditional treatment methods such as oral western medicine, atomization therapy has obvious limitations, and the complementary and alternative therapy is an effective method to treat asthma in children. This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of various complementary and alternative therapies for children with asthma by means of mesh meta-analysis. In order to provide the basis for clinical rational use. ⋯ INPLASY202120005.

Endometriosis (EMS) is one of the common diseases in women, which seriously affects the quality of life of women. Leuprorelin acetate can control the development of EMS, but long-term use can cause perimenopausal symptoms in women. Clinical studies have shown that Kuntai capsule combined with leuprorelin acetate is effective in the treatment of EMS, which can relieve perimenopausal symptoms, but it lacks of evidence-based medical evidence. Therefore, this study aims to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Kuntai capsule combined with leuprorelin acetate in the treatment of EMS. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/AZU47.
