Observational Study
An online time-to-event dashboard comparing the effective control of COVID-19 among continents using the inflection point on an ogive curve: Observational study.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the frequently asked questions is which countries (or continents) are severely hit. Aside from using the number of confirmed cases and the fatality to measure the impact caused by COVID-19, few adopted the inflection point (IP) to represent the control capability of COVID-19. How to determine the IP days related to the capability is still unclear. This study aims to (i) build a predictive model based on item response theory (IRT) to determine the IP for countries, and (ii) compare which countries (or continents) are hit most. ⋯ An IRT modeling scheme fitting the epidemic data was used to predict the length of IP days. Europe, particularly France, was hit seriously by COVID-19 based on the IP days. The IRT model incorporated with AAC is recommended to determine the pandemic IP.

To report the rationale, design, and baseline demographic characteristics of TuYou-County Pediatric Eye study, which mainly aimed to determine the retinal microvascular changes with optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and its association with eye abnormalities in school aged children and adolescents at suburban location in Northern China. TuYou-County Pediatric Eye study was a school-based survey conducted in TuYou-County. Multi-ethnic (Mongol, Han, and Hui) participants will be followed up for 5 years. ⋯ The average age of all participants was 14.9 ± 5.11. TYPE study is the first large-scale school-based multi-ethnic survey in suburban site of Northern China. Continuous identification of retinal microvascular changes with eye diseases will provide new insights into the control related diseases in school-age children and adolescents.

Increasing evidence has indicated immune-related genes (IRGs) play a key role in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Whereas, there have been no investigations proposing a reliable prognostic signature in terms of IRGs. This study aimed to develop a robust signature based on IRGs in HCC. A total of 597 HCC patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) databases were enrolled in this study. ⋯ This study developed a robust immune-related risk signature and built a predictive nomogram that reliably predict overall survival in HCC, which may be helpful for clinical management and personalized immunotherapy decisions.

Essential hypertension is the primary cause of death and disability and it has become a major public health problem globally. Yufeng Ningxin (YFNX) is a commonly used Chinese patent medicine in treating essential hypertension. The objective of this protocol is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of YFNX for the treatment of essential hypertension. ⋯ This systematic review will provide strong evidence to assess the effectiveness and safety of YFNX in the treatment of essential hypertension.

Cancer-related fatigue, a common symptom of cancer patients caused by the interaction of multiple factors, runs through the whole process of tumorigenesis, development, treatment, and prognosis. The main clinical manifestations are weakness, tiredness, exhaustion, fatigue, or slow movement, heavy limbs, low mood or irritability, sleep disturbance or lethargy, lack of attention, etc. CRF is different from the fatigue after daily body fatigue. It has no obvious relief or relief after rest or sleep, and exists for a long time in the relevant treatment and rehabilitation process. It seriously affects the physiological, psychological and social functions of patients, and reduces the quality of life of patients. Moxibustion therapy has shown strong advantages in the treatment of CRF, and the curative effect is accurate. Therefore, this paper will carry out a systematic evaluation and meta analysis of the efficacy and safety of moxibustion in the treatment of CRF. ⋯ INPLASY202110072.
