Single-cell RNA-seq has become a powerful tool to understand tumor cell heterogenicity. This study tried to screen prognosis-related genes in basal-like breast tumors and evaluate their correlations with cellular states at the single-cell level. Bulk RNA-seq data of basal-like tumor cases from The Cancer Genome Atlas-Breast Cancer (TCGA-BRCA) and single-cell RNA-seq from GSE75688 were retrospectively reviewed. ⋯ GSEA analysis showed that low RIMS2 group expression had genes significantly enriched in DNA Repair, and MYC Targets V2. Among the 89 basal-like cells, RIMS2 expression was negatively correlated with DNA repair and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). RIMS2 expression was negatively associated with DNA repair capability of basal-like breast tumor cells and might serve as an independent indicator of favorable PFS.

This study aimed to estimate the value of serum procalcitonin (PCT) for non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) prediction in the patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). A total of 220 AECOPD patients were divided into NIPPV group (n = 121) and control group (routine treatment, n = 99) based on the routine standards and physicians' experience. Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the independent factors for NIPPV treatment. ⋯ The cut-off value of serum PCT for NIPPV prediction was 88.50 ng/l. AECOPD patients who require NIPPV treatment frequently have high levels of PCT, CRP, PaCO2, RR and neutrophil. Serum PCT may be employed as an indicator for NIPPV treatment in AECOPD patients.

A systematic review and meta-analysis on the regulation of programmed cell death-1 on T-cells in type 2 diabetes.
To assess T-cell exhaustion mediated by programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) pathway in patients living with type 2 diabetes (T2D). ⋯ In patients living with T2D, immune dysfunction is at least in part due to T-cell exhaustion mediated by the upregulation of PD-1 expression. Therefore, the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors as a therapeutic strategy may be beneficial in restoring immune function in patients with T2D.

In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) including atezolizumab, durvalumab, pembrolizumab, and nivolumab have reported their efficacy and safety profile in patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). However, given the diverse efficacy and inconsistent safety among the ICIs, with the absence of head-to-head researches designed to evaluate the efficacy among them, it might bring with confusion on selection in clinical practice. ⋯ Results of the study revealed that there was no statistical difference on PFS or OS among agents of atezolizumab, durvalumab, pembrolizumab, and nivolumab as first-line treatment in patients with ES-SCLC. However, durvalumab was shown superiority on ORR when compared with atezolizumab, also with significantly higher risk on immune-related AEs.

Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is an effective revascularization strategy in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). However, recent studies had indicated that postPCI patients usually suffer from a low-quality life. Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) has been recommended by numerous guidelines in the clinic for these patients. And Baduanjin exercise can significantly benefit patients with CHD. Regrettably, the effect of Baduanjin exercise on postPCI patients is still not clear. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis protocol is planned to explore the effect of Baduanjin exercise in patients with CHD who have undergone PCI. ⋯ INPLASY202130065.
