Effects of functional movement screen training in high-school baseball players: A randomized controlled clinical trial.
In recent years, the functional movement screen (FMS) and FMS training have attracted attention as a means of preventing injury, but no studies have examined the effect of such training in high-school baseball players. The aim of this study was to clarify the effect of FMS training on FMS score, physical function and baseball performance in high-school baseball players. ⋯ FMS training for 8 weeks contributes to improving FMS scores for high-school baseball players, but FMS scores go down if FMS training is not continued.

Gallbladder neuroendocrine carcinoma (GB-NEC) is rare and there are few reports at present. We sought to review the current knowledge of GB-NEC and provide recommendations for clinical management. ⋯ Typical imaging features could be helpful for preoperative diagnosis. Age, margin status, tumor size, marital status, histopathologic subtype and SEER stage may be independent predictors for the survival. Remarkable advances regarding the treatment for GB-NEC have been achieved in recent years. Further studies are needed to investigate the survival benefit of lymphadenectomy for patients with GB-NEC.

Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is the most common gynecologic carcinoma in developed countries and accounts for nearly 5% of carcinoma cases and more than 2% of deaths due to female carcinomas worldwide. Because of this reported risk, it is very important to diagnose and stage it accurately. Therefore, we investigated the staging accuracy of EC with contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS). Due to a lack of studies on the use of CEUS in staging EC, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ CEUS has a high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of EC. It can be considered as an effective and feasible method for EC staging.

Randomized clinical trial of preoperative skin preparation with 2% chlorhexidine versus conventional hair shaving in percutaneous coronary intervention.
Preoperative skin preparation is associated with surgical site infection (SSI). Traditional preoperative shaving fails to reduce the risk of SSI. The efficacy of 2% chlorhexidine for preoperative skin preparation in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is sketchy. The aim of this trial was to evaluate whether preoperative skin preparation performed with chlorhexidine was not inferior to a conventional hair removal method. ⋯ In PCI, preoperative skin preparation with 2% chlorhexidine was not inferior to conventional hair shaving in terms of the wound infection rate and SSI rate.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact on our lives and plays many roles in various fields. By analyzing the past 30 years of AI trends in the field of nephrology, using a bibliography, we wanted to know the areas of interest and future direction of AI in research related to the kidney. ⋯ After 2010, the interest in AI and its achievements increased enormously. To date, AIs have been investigated using data that are relatively easy to access, for example, radiologic images and laboratory results in the fields of tumor and acute kidney injury. In the near future, a deeper and wider range of information, such as genetic and personalized database, will help enrich nephrology fields with AI technology.
