There is no systematic review to compare the efficacy of acupuncture and acupotomy in patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. It is worthy to critically review the evidence of the comparison of these 2 therapies to inform clinical practice. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of acupuncture and acupotomy in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy and to provide evidence for clinical practice. ⋯ 10.17605/OSF.IO/U7T6A.

Clinical experience with biologic treatment in resistant eosinophilic fasciitis: Case reports and review of the literature.
Eosinophilic fasciitis (EF) is an uncommon connective tissue disorder characterized by limb and trunk erythema, with symmetrical thickening of the skin. Its pathogenesis is poorly understood. Treatment consists mainly of glucocorticoids. Yet, no randomized trials have evaluated therapies for this rare disease and the optimal treatment modality remains unclear. Although most patients show partial or complete response to glucocorticoids, many relapse upon drug tapering, while others either do not respond at all or fail to sustain prolonged remission. Second-line therapy for this rare disorder includes mainly methotrexate (MTX), azathioprine, cyclosporine and hydroxychloroquine. Recently, several attempts using rituximab and intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG) have shown good clinical results. ⋯ This review of three cases of EF supports the results of previous reports, suggesting addition of rituximab and IVIG is an effective treatment for patients with refractory disease.

Recurrent and metastatic female adnexal tumor of probable Wolffian origin: A case report and review of the literature.
Female adnexal tumors of probable Wolffian origin (FATWOs) are rare gynecologic neoplasms arising from the mesonephric duct remnants. Less than 90 cases have been reported in the English literature. Although most cases of FATWO are considered benign, recurrence and metastasis may occur in very few cases during the course of the disease. Due to the small number of recurrent and metastatic FATWO cases, there are no clear recommendations regarding optimal treatment. ⋯ FATWO is considered a benign entity. However, a few FATWOs have been shown to behave aggressively. Due to only a few reported cases, there are no comprehensive recommendations regarding the optimal clinical management of recurrent and metastatic FATWOs. Complete surgical resection followed by combination chemotherapy is considered to be the most effective therapy for recurrent and metastatic FATWOs. Chemotherapy with docetaxel plus carboplatin, which is most commonly used in malignant cases, may be effective in the treatment of recurrent and metastatic FATWOs.

Ectopic insulinoma diagnosed by 68Ga-Exendin-4 PET/CT: A case report and review of literature.
Ectopic insulinomas are extremely rare and challenging to diagnose for clinicians. Precise preoperative localization is essential to successful treatment. ⋯ This case shows that 68Gallium-exendin-4 PET/CT is useful for precise localization and thereby successful treatment of insulinoma, especially for occult insulinomas and those derived from an ectopic pancreas.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia with myelofibrosis: A case report and literature review.
Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) with myelofibrosis (MF) is rare, and only 14 cases have been reported in the literature to date. ⋯ In this case report and review of an additional 14 cases of APL with MF, we highlighted the importance of the degree of MF to be evaluated by bone marrow biopsy at the time of bone marrow aspiration when APL is suspected. If MF is present, the type of MF should be determined in a timely manner, and appropriate intervention measures should be taken accordingly.
