Coexisting rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in the same patient is often thought to be rare, and thus misdiagnosis is common. The aim of our study was to describe the main characteristics of RA coexisting with AS in patients with delayed diagnoses and improve awareness of the disease association. Between 2012 and 2018, data from 22 patients who had RA and AS (RA/AS) were retrospectively reviewed. ⋯ The DAS28 and BASDAI scores at the 2-year follow-up evaluation were lower than the initial assessment. Coexisting RA and AS is often misdiagnosed for many years; a lack of recognition of RA and AS together is one of the most common reasons. Systemic, symmetric, peripheral, and axial arthritis in middle-aged women were the most frequent presentations at onset.

A bibliometric analysis of segmentectomy versus lobectomy for non-small cell lung cancer research (1992-2019).
This study intends to create a series of scientific maps to quantitatively estimate hot spots and emerging trends in segmentectomy versus lobectomy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) research with bibliometric methods. ⋯ Publications related to segmentectomy versus lobectomy for NSCLC have made great achievements based on bibliometric analysis in recent years. However, further research and global collaboration are still required. Finally, we find that segmentectomy for the treatment of NSCLC is receiving much more attention from researchers globally compared with lobectomy in this research area.

Ovarian sertoli-leydig cell tumor (OSLCT) is extremely rare. We reported a OSLCT case in whom postmenopausal vaginal bleeding was the first symptom. ⋯ OSLCT can show different endocrine abnormalities, which are related to the various types of tumor tissues. Missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis are likely to occur in the patients who only have elevated serum testosterone. For the menopausal women with elevated serum testosterone, ovarian tumor shoule be highly suspected after excluding adrenal gland-related diseases.

The aim of this study was to assess the relationship of heartburn in pediatric patients with functional dyspepsia (FD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with gastrointestinal symptoms, sleep disturbances, and psychologic distress. The overlap in symptoms of FD, IBS, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) predicts greater symptom severity and decreased quality of life and presents opportunities for improved diagnostic classification and personalized therapeutics. A cross-sectional observational study of 260 pediatric patients with abdominal pain was conducted. ⋯ Likewise, initiating and maintaining sleep (P = .007), arousal/nightmares (P = .046), sleep-wake transition (P = .001), hyperhidrosis during sleep (P = .016), and anxiety (P = .001) and depression (P = .0018) were also significantly increased in patients who reported heartburn versus patients who did not report heartburn. Patients with a positive report of heartburn, whether classified as having FD and/or IBS, had increased gastrointestinal symptoms, sleep disturbances, anxiety, and depression than patients with a negative report of heartburn. A better understanding of these associations may allow for personalized treatment for youth with abdominal pain and heartburn as a primary symptom.

Minor salivary gland biopsy (MSGB) is often used in patients lacking specific autoantibodies (seronegative patients) to confirm the presence of focal lymphocytic sialadenitis (FLS), which would suggest a diagnosis of Sjogren syndrome. There are no current guidelines indicating when to refer patients for MSGB. The objective of our study was to ascertain distinguishing clinical and laboratory features among individuals with sicca symptoms based on their serologic and histopathologic status, and to identify factors associated with FLS. ⋯ Smoking and antihistamine use were associated with lower odds of FLS. In the appropriate clinical context, seronegative patients with sicca symptoms and no smoking history could be considered for MSGB. A thorough medication and smoking history should be performed in all patients before referral for MSGB.
